Yeah, looking back now, it does seem like it was a mistake for us not to sign him. He's only played 4 or 5 games so far, so it might be too early to tell, but it's not looking good for those of us who didn't want him.

Still, if we get Barba, it's all worth it.

Dugan is an outstanding talent. I had no doubt if we signed him he'd be one of the best fullbacks in the game, he is just not for us because of fucking Twitter. **** you Dugan.

Good win in the end for the Cows. Refs did everything to get the Dragons home but their defence held resolute.

What does that actually mean? He's judged by higher standards than everyone else?

Of course people are going to be disappointed when they see Dugan play well, we had him signed, sealed and delivered and it all backflipped at the last second to see him line up for the Dragons a few weeks later. When our team is both struggling to play well, struggling in a position he plays and struggling to sign anyone in general it's natural for fans to be disappointed.

Just thinking about it, it's still hard to believe. We had him signed. We tore up his contract over a 140 letter sentence he wrote on a website. A football club pulled out of signing someone because of something he wrote on an Internet page. Absolutely ridiculous.

It's like football is the last thing the broncos actually care about. It's profits number 1, old boys club number 2, signing "good blokes" third, then football somewhere down the line.

Of course some players are going to be judged harsher than others, because they'll have a bigger affect on our salary cap.

Good point, this is why you're such a valued member on here. In my opinion, that's a short term view. Dugan maybe cheap this year, sure, but long term he's going to be one of the most expensive players on the cap. Based on that performance, he isn't worth it and honestly he's been checkered as anything.

IIRC we had Dugan signed for 3 years at about 290k a year. At that rate for 3 years we have the biggest bargain of the decade.

It was like Folau's contract, nobody new the correct figure. Some had it as dirt cheap, others had it as overs.
