Auckland 9s Broncos v Eels

Barba's pace is the only worry from this game. Well, and Stagg seemingly becoming useless. Sandow and Fittler catching Barba isn't what you want to see, but hopefully it just means he's still recovering.

Granville is a bit predictable. No way Macca will have any pressure on him for a spot this year. We would be better off using Glenn at hooker for 5 minutes if Macca needs a break

The score should have been 22-7 or 18-7 depending on field goals and we played really well.

Granville is far from predictable.

Sandow has always been deceptively fast.

Barba is still struggling with that ankle injury, he'll be better for the run.

Stagg came up with an important tackle on Fui and was instrumental in the winning try. I don't think both he and Lowrie should be in the team, but there were definitely positives to take out of the game for him.

I told my wife each time he would run with the ball before the player got up to play the ball. His body language is predictable and would most certainly be read by NRL defences. His only hope is a fast play the ball before the defence is ready

Barba was definitely not striding out, he was clearly stuck in second...it was obvious from his body language, there was no pinning the ears back and just gunning it. Likely just part of his recovery, can't wait to see him in full flight!! Even in 2nd gear he left everyone except Kodi for dead lol..

Speaking of Kodi, he has had some really nice touches over the last 2 days, he's not doing his selection chances any harm and being an unknown in the NRL is always good. My only concern is his defence...by all reports, he struggles with it even in the lower grades - that IS going to be an issue at NRL level. Hopefully he can work on it like Barba did, and turn it around. The kid clearly has talent, love it!

He's predictably average.

And will be predictably talked about on this forum as a danger to McCullough's minutes.

He was the only player who looked dangerous in the trial against the Cowboys. When there's a slow play the ball every hooker looks predictable. He is ridiculously fast out of dummy half and can set things up from out of no where. Can also play every position in the back line.
