I think the Broncos are the slowest team of all time. When Hunt made that break at the end there just had to be somebody there for him.

We don't look to have a player who can score from long distances. That's why our fastest players should be on the edge because they aren't getting through the middle coughhoffmancough. Barba somehow kept up with Albert Kelly who is ridiculously fast.

I think Reeds defense is great, and think you need a few defenders in back line BUT he needs to stop killing attacking plays trying to beat players when players outside him with much better attacking skills in better position. He killed every attack on left when we had numbers wider.

I don't even know if bringing in different players will change a thing. Hannant and Kennedy have been such a let down off the bench. The use of the bench has not been great well it has been terrible. Barba on 1 leg, Copley on 1 leg, old man Hodges and then Hoffman killing all the backline plays. Massive overhaul needed I would say. Even when we were winning Hoffman was blowing a couple of chances a game easily.

Good read this thread.

Don't know I can add too much. What I know for sure is that changes have to happen next week. The problem we have is, Hannant and Kennedy are clearly not pulling their weight, but who do we replace them with? Hala? Ben Hunt is the revelation here though. His running, passing and vision are really quite good right now. He just really needs some help.

At the end of the day, like I said, you have to make changes. I'll post my team for next weeks match in the Knights pre game discussion thread.

I honestly didn't think Hannant did badly at all, but from the corner the Tits stashed us at, I may have been seeing things...

Hannant actually ran hard and tackled well last night. Definitely a step above his previous games.

I will admit when im wrong and ben hunt has definitely proven he is a good player this year, however, does he have the ability on 5th to do anything but bombs? Our only play, no matter where we are on the field is to just put the ball high and hope for the best. Pathetic

It's been like that since ....forever.

Ben Hunt's other game plan on the 5th is to run it the short side, which, is very effective, but other teams are already on to it. Like most things Brisbane, they latch onto something and wring the life out of it instead of mixing things up.

p.s
Short kicking doesn't seem his go either (David Mead says hi)

All in all, he's got a long way to go......

well wallace used to bomb it on the last to the left EVERY time at the broncos but now he's at the panthers he's using all different kinds of options, so again, is it coaching? because it sure seems like it is.

Yes. McGuire is often ill-disciplined and it ends up costing us with silly penalties. I wouldn't mind him going for a stint in the QC for a week or two to work on his discipline. Kennedy then goes into the starting side (and that's the last chance saloon for him). This frees up a bench spot for Hala. Hannant can start as well and Parker can go back to the back row. Griffin can bench Glenn or Gillett.

Hang on, u wot m8?

McGuire made 100m, 32 tackles and conceded one penalty last night. Glenn and Gillett both had big games too. McGuire is probably our best forward ATM, along with Gillett. And you wanna drop one of them to QCup and bench the other one?

I think Glenn can be better used off the bench and could actually play the middle a bit. But there's no way I would drop McGuire or bench Gillett.

I think McGuire would be better as an impact player - much more than Kennedy. As others have said Kennedy needs as much game time as possible. McGuire can then come on and just rip in. Or give Hala an opportunity.

Gillett has been quiet since the Dragons game. He could really make an impact coming off the bench.

So Hunt made 5 or so linebreaks and we only managed to convert one into a try last night.

Not good enough.

Where is the ****ing support play? What the **** do we do at training all week?

****!!!

A half decent partner in the halves will help with that. Hopefully the club saves their pennies to buy a decent one and not some half arsed fix like Hoffman, Glen or Khunt.

Edit: Or just put Strasser or the like in there....**** this too young/too early/will ruin him shit. The greatest playmakers started early and so can these other young fellas.

Still too cranky to say a great deal, it's all been said already in any case. I was more sad than cranky lastnight, until I realised Lowrie got all of 7 or 8 minutes (I think) and Oates got none. FFS Griff...seriously?? Now I'm just cranky!!

Another game we should have won, not for lack of trying though.

I feel for Barba; if he's injured he needs time off until he's right, if it's just confidence he needs either time off or in Q-Cup or whatever to get that right. He's going backwards right now under the growing pressure and it's not right or fair. He is a genuine gun, I wish the club would just fucking do everything they can to get him right instead of playing him when he's clearly not.

Those bagging out Vidot need their heads read - he hasn't been as huge as he was the first few games, but he's still generally more than solid and I'm totally happy with him out there at the moment.

Kennedy needs to man up, he hits the line like fucking Tinkerbell at the moment. Not impressed.

I feel for Hoffy, in his defence (and I've seen no-one say it yet) he was CLEARLY struggling with injury lastnight, his ankle was really troubling him after he got wiped out attempting that kick (he was limping back on after half time ffs) and he copped a couple of heavy hits to the chest too. Definitely not his best, and he's still not a 5/8's pinky finger, but I don't think it's totally fair to knock lastnight's performance - he did bloody well to stay out for the whole game. Which makes me wonder if Griff was keeping Oates in backup for that situation but it's still not good enough use of the bench, it's a recurring fucking problem.

Ugh. So fucking cranky. This shit is ruining my weekends!! At least I started the tipping 2 from 2 this week...figured I'd back the Tits so I'd win either way...I'm good on the tips but **** I feel dirty for it lol :(

Things that must happen NOW

Barba must vacate the number one jersey. He either needs to go down to Qld cup or have a crack at 5/8. He doesn't have confidence or speed and that equals an under performing fullback.

Reed (despite an improvement this week) needs to go. Just not good enough anymore.

Hodges needs to get in shape and take a breath and not try to do more than just play his position.

Glen to the bench.

Oates sees legit time either starting or off the bench

Kennedy to Qld cup and replace with any big fella who is willing to run in a straight line hard and make some tackles.

Parker to the back row and Hennant back to prop.

Hoffman in any jersey other than 6. Did he pass the ball once last night? It just demoralizes the left side and puts ALL of the pressure on Hunt.

Griffin needs to find an alternative career. Clearly he is a coach who can't make the tough decision and has gotten way to friendly with his beloved players.
Good summation.
