Anthony Milford Discussion

Do you think he knows or cares what we say about him on the forum ...

what get's said about him online is neither going to help nor hinder his career
Exactly so I don't know why people want to be a bunch of critics when they probably couldn't run the length of a football field themselves. It's hard to say weather he cares but if he was going to care who thought about him it would probably his so called fans

Calling Milford fat isn't even close to being the meanest ongoing joke or insult this forum has had. He's earning a million a year now, as if he cares what we think. But there's a big chance that he reads the article and decides to do some sit ups. He isn't going to read articles about being fat and go eat a KFC bucket, that's for sure.

Well actually, maybe it does. I can confirm players do go online a LOT and do indulge in looking up things about themselves.

I know for a fact that certain Broncos players have visited the forum before and do see things written about them. Remember, they're 20ish year olds in a digital social media world.

Think about it

They might view this page for comedic value. I can't imagine a professional sportsman ever getting upset by what an anonymous poster (who probably has no sporting ability whatsoever) has to say about him.

Lol just saw that Milford image posted a couple of pages ago, what a disgrace.

I wouldn't care if it were one of our forwards carrying the extra tyre, but it's our young Five-eighth that relies almost entirely on his agility & speed to be a first grade standard player, hinder those 2 things and we're paying $1m a season to Chris Sandow with less talent.

Eat a salad you fat ass. Would literally take him less than 2 months to lose almost all of his excess weight if he ate healthy wih the amount of cardio training these players do.

I'm sorry, but that photo of Milford says nothing. Have you never had a photo taken that makes you look 20 kg heavier than you are, bad angle, bad posture, bad light. C'mon people - stop acting like a bunch of shallow women. Milford is looking quite fit this preseason

Works both ways.

I dunno why people are so touchy about Milford. When we noticed or joked about Thaiday's fat, everyone joined in then.

Yeah its a bit strange really. I think people get too attached to players and almost feel an obligation to defend them no matter what.

if he's overweight he's overweight - wasn't there an article a couple of months ago saying that milf only got down to his playing weight at the back end of the season? Wouldn't that potentially add weight to the theory he is carrying a bit extra based on last year?

Look, I'd rather he be spending the time working on his kicking game then growing a 6 pack. If that's what he's spending his preseason on then good. If he's within his ideal playing weight and is still carving up line breaks who cares. He need to not be too light if he's defending in the front line. So long as he's feeling comfortable and playing with confidence because of that, we're better off.

Let's not forget he's been in rehab group for part of the summer.

Isn't it better to be carrying a bit extra during the pre season slog and then burn it off properly through the course of the next few months?Starting this time of year lean doesn't make sense to me?
When he burns a bit off it will be like kicking off the shackles and he'll peak properly.

That makes sense to me.

I wonder how many of the people on hear complaining about his weight have ever played competitive full contact sport at a competitive level. How much do they really know about sports science

Abs are related to diet. I dare say if he ate better he'd have a 6 pack easily with all the physical exercise he does. Either it's genetic or he's having way too many cheat days. My concern is he's losing his speed by beefing up too much. He needs his explosiveness off the mark to be successful in the nrl

And you think he has lost that or is at risk of losing it?
