Why not both? Do you see a (very possible) pack in 2019 of:

8. Lodge
9. McCullough
10. Wallace
11. S’ua
12. Gillett
13. McGuire

14. TPJ
15. Offa
16. Haas
15. Glenn (shifting to a utility role and to provide that off the bench experience that Wayne loves).

And not smile? I do...

Nah, Pangai Jr is starting for the rest of his career.

Not at lock. McGuire will be straight back there once he is fit.

Not relevant, I can't see him losing his starting spot again unless there's a massive dip in form. Doesn't necessarily have to be at Lock. Either way there's only room for 1 of Lodge or Wallace in the starting line-up for 2019 onwards, you'd assume.

If we're discussing Wallace, we should at least mention Taupau. Rumour is that Manly is looking to move his contract for the last 2 years of his deal (2019/2020) due to their salary cap issues. Might be worth exploring, I feel as if a starting front row of McGuire, Taupau & Pangai Jr is pretty much the absolute dream combination of workhorse x power x skill.

Pangai can play either prop or lock as long as he gets enough minutes like the 60 he played on the weekend.

Lol how would we afford Taupau if we are trying to retain Lodge, Sua, TPJ and Haas.

It's very unlikely, we'd probably only be able to if we allowed Lodge & Su'A to walk (Seems likely at this point, based on the type of offers they're reportedly receiving), re-sign TPJ & Haas on bro-deals and Manly would still have to pay at least a small portion of Marty's contract.

Just food for thought.

Manly wont have to pay a part of Taupau's contract. This guy is making 170m per game. A club will take him off their hands.

not unless Wayne thinks he needs some impact on the bench to keep the momentum going once the starters are off

Yeah, he will be wanted, but every club knows that Manly are in massive cap trouble, so the offers will reflect that

Why on earth would a club offer full price, when they know Manly will be desperate enough to accept a split bill?

Because lots of clubs will be interested.

Gold Coast Titans coach Garth Brennan has issued Jarrod Wallace a simple message saying he doesn't want players who don't want to be there. Brennan admitted the Titans will not engage in a bidding war for his signature. Wallace will inform the club of his decision before June.

Anyone think Offa could be moved on to bring back Wallace?

Because Manly will know every club is interested and will pay full value if they want him early which some clubs will

Offa can be just as good , still only young. If we bring him back than there is no way we keep hass , tpj , sua and flegler.
