That's totally unfair. No one has come out of this looking good.

Seibold went leaking confidential information to the media, that's a shit move. The Broncos board were supposedly negotiation with the Rabbits the whole time while telling Bennett, and the public that they were not. The Rabbits were supposedly treating Seibold like shit.

Everyone comes out of this a loser, I just hope Seibold is an excellent man manager who can get the playing group focussed and committed for 2019.

I don't want to sound like Huge, but do you have evidence that it was Seibold that leaked the email to the press or is this an assumption by you?

You seem to assume that the email was only available to either Seibold or the South's CEO. It is possible that other parties were cc'd into the email, or alternatively, that the CEO has forwarded the email on to other relevant management staff for their information and discussion. I think it is naive to suggest that there are only two possible sources for the leak.

I can wear all the drama and complaints about how unprofessional this makes the club look, so long as it doesn't effect our performance next year. If this upheaval effects Siebold's ability to get the team with the program, then it will be unforgivable for the board.

I know WB holds some responsibility for how events played out, but the board had the power to end these shenanigans a long time ago.

Guys, big hypothetical here. BUT How good would it be if Souths say "sorry, we only have 200k in the budget for 2019. If you want to coach us for 200k you can, otherwise you can twiddle your thumbs for a year and see you in 2020". I'd love for this to leave Wayne "all about the money" Bennett out of pocket. I honestly don't know how he has any supporters in this club after the crap he put us through when he left the first time. He can rot for all I care. Greedy prick of a human being who could have just aggreed to a swap instead of trying to get double the pay.

They had better have Oates, TPJ and Lodge wrapped up. The club is so incompetent lately some staffer has probably forged their signatures.
Lodge and Oates are resigned. They have already been training. I imagine TPJ is as well, he's just had family wedding and will likely be at training tomorrow.

If the only reason they are genuinely at the club is for Bennett I’m happy to let them go. If they’re going to carry on because of Wayne’s doing then I don’t think they should stay.
No one is bigger then the club, these blokes should be playing for the club, not just one man at the club.

Lol....bit harsh maybe

This season is going to a mess isn't it? So much drama already. Seibold seems a bit broken.

The real question is, after all this mess, how much energy and fire does Wayne Bennett have to coach a club like the Rabbitohs? I think the 2015 gf loss and now a sacking, he is well and truly done. The Rabbitoh fans should be very nervous whereas us broncos fans should be excited.

I think Seibold put the broncos feet to the fire & said take me now or don’t take me at all.

However it all transpired it’s the best result, excited for the change!

I'm excited for the change. I just hope the boys get behind Seibold now.

It's hard for me to admit but I have lost a lot of respect for Bennett and perhaps I have been a bit blind to his actions during this. For someone I respect so highly I expect more from him and frankly it really disappoints me how poorly he has acted and conducted himself during this whole thing. I still respect his achievements on the field and in general what he has done for the club overall, but I have to question if his ego got in the way of his decision making during this whole saga. It only proves one thing for me, putting people on pedestals is rarely deserved. He isn't alone though because in the end I think this whole saga could have been handled better by pretty much everyone involved and no one comes off looking good here IMO.

The only people I feel sorry for are the fans of the Broncos and Souths, being dragged through this whole thing has been a shit fight and it's hard to say what lies ahead for 2019, I really really don't know. We will have a new coach for 2019 and beyond, but there is a hell of a lot of work at all levels of the club to move on.

Very fair post, but Wayne has always been about Wayne (and there is nothing wrong with that at all). As long as his goal's aligned with that of the Club everything was rosy, it was when there was a divergence that there has been problems. It will be interesting to see what unfolds in this period with Souths. The reality is that in 18 years of continuous coaching he has won 2 grand finals and made one other, so maybe his time has come and gone. It would still not surprise me to see him win one more before he finishes though.

Yeah that's fair, it may or may not be him, but I don't see why an email to a CEO would be shared amongst the company. It's either him or the Rabbits CEO who were playing the game to get Bennett sacked.

I hope it's not Seibold, but they've quoted him directly, and if someone is leaking his personal email that he wrote, I'd expect him to come out and say so.

Optimistic about the change in style, incredibly pessimistic about the effects this will have on our squad.

Broncos have finalised and have three player resignings to announce and they have been holding out for the coaching saga to be finalised.
