Boyd, Gillett, and Macca on long term deals. Every one of them could have been offered two-three years and they would have taken it. Even great players like JT and Gal can turn to absolute shit rapidly past 30.

Boyd re-signed when he was the current Australian fullback, Gillett will be one of the top backrowers in the game for the next couple of seasons. I agree with McCullough

Well, I was happy to wait a bit and give us time, but that's the nail in the coffin I think, time for some heads to roll.

Axed: Boyd, Nikorima, McCullough, Glenn, Isaako, Su'A

Fighting for their life: Ofahengaue

Line-up for next week -

1. Bird
2. Oates
3. Shibasaki
4. Staggs
5. Farnworth (gk)
6. Milford (c)
7. Dearden
8. Lodge
9. Turpin
10. Ofahengaue
11. Fifita
12. Gillett
13. Pangai Jr

14. O'Sullivan
15. Flegler
16. Haas
17. Carrigan

Staggs is a better kicker than Herbie

Which contracts do you disagree with.

Boyd, Gillett, and Macca on long term deals. Every one of them could have been offered two-three years and they would have taken it. Even great players like JT and Gal can turn to absolute shit rapidly past 30.

Don't forget Bird, paid overs for him even though he is having a dig.

Seibold should make the players ring each member this week to personally apologise for that performance

What a surprise. McCullough & Boyd are copping.

No one had a good game, except maybe Lodge, Staggs & Gillett. Oates made some excellent runs but make 5 (!) errors, two were genuine try-scoring opportunities, at least one other directly led to one of their tries. Bird bombed a certain try. Isaako with 4 errors, again, in crucial periods, giving them a fresh set on our line each time.

The first 35 minutes was 75% to 25% possession to the Roosters. You can have the best captain and the best forward pack in the world, you drop that much ball and give that much possession and field position, you're fucked.

Seibold needs to get the back 5 to apologise to our forward pack. Then he needs to soap up every football they have, get the halves to kick bombs to the back 3, and send the forwards through to chase the kick and smash the backs. Every time the backs drop a bomb, they have to do a lap of the oval.
Darius stood by and watched 4 tries be scored without even attempting to make a tackle. He absolutely deserves it this game.
I’d give Macca another chance but he can’t play 80, he’s ineffective.

Looks like we cleared some salary cap space. Boyd and Macca should clear up enough cash to find a organising half. Stags and Lodge were outstanding. Niko seems to always cop the blame but I’d rather see Milford go and have Niko as our running half

You do not win the premiership in March or April (but it is possible to lose it in this timeframe).

It was a disappointing result and a disappointing level of effort from our team.

The reality is that we were always likely to be 0-4 or 1-3 after the first four rounds, with the draw that we received.

I do not think that it is panic stations yet, but I do believe that some further tweaks are reuired by Seibold.

The positives from that game from my perspective:

1. Lodge - another solid game and good contribution for his first game back for a couple of weeks.

2. Kotoni Staggs - another very good contribution by him.

3. Flegler - I thought was very solid again. He could hold his head high.

4. Fifita - great energy and contribution off the bench. I think he should be starting.

I wrote this at the start of the year:

I love the optimism in this thread, but here is a dose of reality, the problems we have had in the last couple of years (in no particular order) are:

1. Attitudinal
2. Consistency
3. Commitment to defence
4. injuries
5. Our spine

4. is down to lady luck. The new coaching team seem to be addressing 1 to 3 in the pre-season. Whether that is successful will be significant in how our season unfolds.

5. remains a significant issue in my view. I will be surprised if at this stage there is any significant change in the way our hooker plays. Boyd is getting on and has proven to be somewhat injury prone. If he is fit and can regain some enthusiasm we could see some marked improvement in his game. Re the halves, it will be dependent on how productive the work being done by M. Johns is.

I think we will improve. I think that suggesting we are favourites or near favourites is very, very optimistic.

I stand by what I posted back earlier in the year prior to the seacon commencing. From the last 2 games, we don't seem to have appropriaely addressed 1 to 3 above and 5. remains a constant issue.

I disagree.

Bird came here busted, but he’s probably been our best player this year.

All I said was we paid overs for him. Maybe if he goes to fullback and kills it but that much for a centre, please.

Stop this fucking bullshit about Bennett tanking our squad. Put a pin in it right now.

Everyone was frothing on our squad pre season, Bennett had the same team last year knocking over good teams.

This year we’re fucked and it’s his fault. Maybe it’s the fucking coach for **** sake.

I agree with the first part of what you said here. Bennett has nothing to do with our performance this year and should be credited with south's play so far this year. Same thing goes for Seibold except so far he deserves no credit.

I do think Seibold will still be a good coach for us he just needs the fortitude required to make the tough decisions that need to be made. He can't leave it too much longer or it could #### our season.

The Broncos respond to Seibold's spray with an even worse performance.

Heads do need to roll after this one. Starting with the spine. Mainly the 1, 7 and 9.

Is Kennar fit? Reckon Siebs might give him a run next week. Milford will be taking over goal kicking too I'd assume.

1. Boyd - He is done. Straight up done. Should have retired at the end of last year. Piss poor captain, no brains in defence and runs the ball back from a kick like a limp noodle. Oh and has a horrible attitude when the going gets tough, throwing his hands up instead of defending. Either he gives it away himself or Seibold is obligated to do it for him. 3
2. Oates - He has gone backwards the past couple of games. Still suspect under the high ball and too often rushes the fundamentals like PTB and puts the team under pressure. Still, he's not going anywhere. 5
3. Staggs - A rare shining light tonight. Didn't shame himself in defence and made that beautiful run that almost netted us a try. God willing Roberts is healthy soon so he can slot straight into fullback and **** Boyd off. 6
4. Bird - Happy with his effort tonight. The dropped sitter was unfortunate but the game was gone well before that. He is one of the few out there that is actually putting in the effort to show something, which considering how much heat he has gotten is saying something. 6
5. Isaako - Needs some time in Q cup. He has clearly lost his way. He can count his lucky stars he's our only quality goalkicker because if he weren't, he wouldn't have survived Round 1. 3
6. Milford - People will continue to shit on him because he isn't at his electric 2015 best, but it remains pretty harsh in my mind. He is one of the very few who looks like he gives a ****. An unlucky kick that gave the Roosters 7 tackles drags his score down a bit. 4
7. Nikorima - Again, he's run out of time. His try assist for Gillett was nice but is but one fleeting moment in a mediocre big picture. It's bench hooker or nothing. 4
8. Lodge - Our best on ground tonight. He's the head down, ass up Prop we've been waiting for since Petero and Webby. If I were Seibold, I'd be giving him a clear mandate as our forward leader and to get in the ears of our underperformers in a big way. 8
9. McC - Pfff, why should I repeat myself? he should have been making 50 tackles and **** all else in Super League a loooong time ago. If he's really the best QLD has got at 9, well good fucking luck Maroons. 2
10. Joe O - He's continued his mediocre year. By rights Seibold should be starting Flegler at 10 and having Joe coming off the bench, so being outplayed by a green as grass rookie should tell Joe all he needs to know about where he's at. 5
11. Glenn - Another experienced head who is being comprehensively overshadowed by a younger buck. He just offers....Nothing to this side. Doesn't bend the line, always needs help in tackles otherwise he gets carried. He is just a complete journeyman. He'd be benched or chopped altogether next week if I were coach. 4
12. Gillett - Our only try scorer and I enjoyed watching him back in his favored position. Should be captain over Boyd any day and Sunday. It was hard to get a read on his influence in our defence because we got towelled across the park. 7
13. TPJ - Look, I like what he brings as a player, I like his mongrel, but he had a shocker by his standards. Got himself reported for a dumb as dogshit late hit on Cronk and offered nothing in defence. Needs to be whistling "If I only had a brain" from the Wizard of Oz to himself all week. 4

14. Shibasaki - Not much to say for him, came on deep into junk time and was hardly seen. Still, judging by how Isaako is traveling right now, he might wanna get used to playing first grade and quickly. NA
15. Sua - Probably his worst ever game for us. I'm really not getting what people see in him. He's a servicable at best 2nd rower and the likes of Fifita and Flegler are making him look like trash. Needs at least a wake up stint in reserves. 3
16. Flegler - Was very solid in a well beaten side. Deserves to start over Joe O in my opinion. Hits hard in both defence and attack and rarely makes an error or gives away a penalty. Lock him up for a few years. 7
17. Fifita - Another rare shining light. This kid is gonna be some player and is almost there now. Showed TPJ what a player chasing big money should really be like on field. If he's not starting over Glenn next week, Seibs is kidding himself. 8
