That there is another great character building win. These types of games are similar to our 2015 surge, all built off defence and team work. Nothing gets me more excited about a team then a gutsy D effort when to a man everyone is turning up and putting in that extra %.

People calling for Roberts return, i say no way. Not unless he has bought in and is ready to go 110%. Seibs is an effort coach and his philosophy requires a complete buy in, every man can count on the man to his left and right knowing he will always be there. Its a Spartan idea and one weaknes destroys the whole damn phalanx so to speak. Throw the weak of mind and the unwilling to the dustbin and let the men reach for glory.

Up the mighty Broncos.

Once this round is complete, we'll only be 2 points behind 4th, which means come round 13 after the bye, we'll still only be a win behind the top 4.

Not too bad considering where we thought we may be at the halfway point of the season. I have faith in Seibold, he is doing well considering all the pressure. I am looking forward to seeing how he manages the origin period.

**** that was awesome, such great defence and effort. I love how much Seibs values effort and it is so valuable. It shows why he has kept Roberts out of the team because you can’t expect effort from everyone else but excuse the lack of it from one.

Love going into the bye with that win on the back of last weeks. Enjoy the break boys, you have well and truly earned it.

boy macca must be sweating like a pedo at a blue light concert, his career at red hill is (hopefully) over.

Love him as a player and appreciate his service but its evident his service from dummy does not compliment our forward pack, which in turn helps MIlf and Dearden.

See ya Macca, youll look great in the blue and gold.

macca really should not be allowed to walk back in this side. its time the broncos start giving positions based on merit. and unless turps and segs really start under performing the next few games then they should stay.

would be unfair on both of them if they got dropped for performing so well. and it would send a really bad message to rest of the team.

macca needs to fight for his spot in qcup and grab the opportunity when it arrives. if hes good enough he will get back in.
But Turpin didn't fight for his spot in Q Cup? He got the spot because McCullough got injured and our halfback didn't want to play hooker.

Jesus mate did you watch the game... Dearden was doing most of the kicking and there was a clear directive to give him more ball.

I wouldn't be surprised if he had more touches than Milf in that game
He didn't.

Dearden barely touched it in the opening 20 mins, the majority of our 5th tackle options go either through Milf or down his side. Dearden was getting more touches in the second half. We as a team seem wary of giving him too much responsibility which I guess is understandable. I do think if we show more faith in him he will not let us down.
Gotta disagree. .. first half was all through Dearden second half Milf started taking control. First couple kicks were Milf including the obvious ones that got forced drop outs, but Dearden was doing a lot of the bombs. There were comments in the live game thread that Dearden needs to improve his long kicking game.

For comparison last week Dearden had 2 kicks to Milf's 15 and against Manly it was 4 to Milf's 18. This week Dearden had 7 to Milf's 10. Huge change in the percentage of kicks taken

If you decide to watch the game again you will see that we went to the right a lot more. I was watching and I thought it might've been a bit premature to start sending attack down Dearden's side and thought with the bye week coming up the game against the titans would be a perfect time to start getting Dearden involved in the attack, but they pulled the trigger early.

I don't think it necessarily worked out (going through Dearden) and in the second half Milf started taking more control... and eventually won us the game

Great defensive effort tonight. Lodge & Haas were outstanding as per usual, Glenn & Gillett have really stood up over the last few weeks as well.

One thing I do want to touch on, Dearden's long kicking game, it's not good. His short kicking game has a lot of potential, but he gets really no distance on his long kicks and they're incredibly easy to catch. Hopefully that's something he can work on in the off-season, because it's one of the only weaknesses in his game right now.

Just got back from the ground and I see it's all being said here, but holy our defense! Absolutely massive, and such amazing attitude and effort to back up time and time again. Haas and Lodge were outstanding as is becoming the norm, and Turpin and Glenn were great too.

Always great to walk out of Mt Smart with a win, two years in a row now too. Proud of the lads.
