I can't really see Boyd or Macca being dropped this season anymore, especially Boyd, who is still the captain. Just have to wait and see what Seibold decides to do for next year.

He wasn't moved on

He was told his best position at Brisbane was 14

He didn't like it, wanted to play 7, got an offer to play 7 at NZ, asked for a release and got it

Big difference to 'moved on'

In my book when you are the regular starting 7 and then told you are going to be demoted to 14 that is being ‘moved on’ by another means.

I don't like McCullough being in for Segeyaro.

He doesn't provide impact off the bench.
It's the only way to push him out of the club. Seggy is in reserves and fair enough, he'll need to earn the respect and Jersey back but it is definitely an improvement!
Very happy he isn't back up starting.
Seibold is doing what's necessary

What do they see in Macca on the bench? He won't provide any SPARK from there. Seggie will provide much more in the last 30min. So frustrating. Make the big call Seibs!
That's just what he has to do. . Couldn't drop him entirely IMO. bench him to show respect, let him seek another contract and if he can't, seggy's QCup form will be too good to ignore

No surprises in the named team. Good to see Turpin is keeping his spot, thoroughly deserved and Fifita gets a chance to show why he should be starting. Congratulations to O'Sullivan, I'm sure he will do the jersey proud.

This was always going to the team. He made it clear his plan last week was to bring Macca on around the 50th minute.

Bad luck to Segy, he derserves to be there on talent, but Macca is going to be hard to displace completely given his long tenure as a stalwart clubman who's never put a foot wrong.

But make no mistake: MACCA HAS BEEN DROPPED. He is being eased out of the side amidst zero protest and controversy.

I'm optimisticaly tipping us to win this game, hoping Macca doesn't play too many minutes in a ball playing capacity. Unfortunately, the more realistic scenario is the game will be on a knife edge when Macca comes on. He's not going to inject anything positive. We will need points in the bank early to take this away.

Happy to see Sean get a start. Hopefully he really gives it a good shake. Glad we didn't release him to the Cowgirls (if there was any truth in that..)
I'd really like to see Milford stand up this weekend, especially with SOS being so fresh.
Turps retaining the 9 is good.
I feel that Seggy is really going to pay for his drink driving mishap. I think if Macca comes off the bench and just plays ok, then he will retain a spot in this side, unfortunately. It'll be hard for Seggy to get back in this side and prove himself.

Macca wont get much more than a couple of weeks now. Last week wont be held against him, he didnt do a great deal wrong coming back from injury and we were disrupted by origin and injury.

Or smokescreen....
Macca late inclusion into starting team just before kick off. Game on a knife edge by 50th-60th min mark and still no Turpin. Eels kick clear by 2 tries with 10mn to go and the game sewn up. Then coach throws Jake in just for game time sake as a back rower while the no.14 plays 80mn at rake.

I lost interest at “01”.

Seriously, Isaako to fullback (he literally cannot be any worse than Boyd right now) and Kennar to the wing - who I thought did really quite well in a beaten team.

Gillett captain.

Anyone else pretty excited to see how SOS goes for a few weeks?
I know the club is all set on Dearden but the injury is a blessing in disguise IMO. We get to see another promising 7 get at least 4-6 weeks (maybe 8) to show if he's better. He may be a star from day 1 in first grade, or he may be pretty bad, at least we won't die wondering if we should have kept SOS next year.

Me too, a point of difference with his trusty left boot. Looks a smart organiser and I prefer him ahead of Dearden from his experience with the Roosters under Robinson. Just like Turpin, he will make a good fist of his shot at the top level, irrespective of ISC form.

he could have done that last week but didn't ... Macca has lost the Broncos hooking role, his only chance of regaining it now is an injury to Turps ... maybe he should follow Bennett to Souths and see if he can be a starter under Bennett.

so far in his 13 weeks as Broncos coach he has done two things the majority of fans have been calling for for years (although many of the anti-seibs brigade are now complaining about him doing them)

1. got Nikorima out of half back
2. got Macca out of hooker

next to come Boyd out of fullback

Yes definitely. After all, he was meant to be next cab off the rank and Dearden was still finding his feet. He mightn't be the future, but I doubt he'll let us down.

I kind of hope it is on the line and he comes on and balls it up and we lose.. I know that sounds petty but I'm done with him after what I saw last week. Make it BLEEDINGLY OBVIOUS and Seibold will have all the amo he needs then.
Next is Boyd

But would he have given Turpin a go if Macca was not injured? Highly unlikely, a Bradbury moment in his favour.
