I don't mind having Palasia off the bench if only because he's versatile and can cover the edge backrow spot better than Carrigan.

It's a good reward for Keenan. He was touted as a star junior coming through the ranks but his development wasn't as smooth as you'd expect. He barely saw any NYC in his initial year with the club and while he did enough to train with the NRL squad, there wasn't any buzz about him playing first grade.

Palasia has just kept on plugging away for the Seagulls, he's improved as the season has gone on and has out-performed a lot of other players who were ahead of him.

Hopefully he can make an impression on Sunday. He's a big body, so the pack has really got some size about it now.

As far as Fensom goes, I thought the selection of him off the bench was odd. When I predicted the team and had him there, my mind-set was that Seibs' doesn't rate the other options and was going with Fensom as a last resort.

If it was me, I would have had him at 13 to tighten the middle and help the rotation. However, Seibs is looking towards the future and is really trying to force Lodge and Pangai Jr to become senior players for this side. I just don't know if forcing the issue is the right idea.

I look at a player like Coen Hess who Green insisted on making an 80 minute edge backrow and it's ruined his career. I see it as a cautionary tale and how if something isn't working, it's better to go back to the way things were and trying again at a later date.

Similarly, I don't think Pangai is more than a 40 minute player. His best performance this season was against the Cowboys in Round 2, and that's all the time he needed to play to be effective.

re Pangai - he’s a perfect bench forward. Come on and maintain the rage for 20min in each half or come on and turn the game in our favour with that same intensity. Some players are brute force with lesser endurance, others are the opposite and need to work into a game.

Really Hope Turpin kills it in this game, He could be a Long Term 6 Option as he has that Munster ability of playing what he sees and is very good in defence(with probably the best Tackle technique I have ever seen by a small player)just hope his kicking game is up to scratch.

But only if Segeryaro is at 9, if Seibold doesn't make that the long term combination then Turpin must be at 9 to get Macca away from it.

I agree Turpin is talented enough to play a number of positions but I'd differ that he's a better small stature tackler than Jeff Robson, former Sharks and Parramatta player. He's one of the best little guys I've seen over the years.

Broncos going to unleash the X.

A sensible person would think so..... seibs not so much.

Makes Fensom's signing all the more baffling, I didn't understand it at the time, but would have thought this would be a good game for him to be a part of. Mr 'Dally M Coach of the Year' seibold is clearly intent on just shitting the bed in new ways each week.
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Interview with Palasia on the Broncos website is pretty amusing, Jharal mentions how he idolised SBW growing up and asked him to describe his own game for the fans, he said "Certainly nothing like SBW, maybe the occasional offload".

At least he's honest. 😋

Peter wallace was a pretty decent defender too.

Just watching that video, shit glenn seems like a good bloke. I still think he should be the captaincy.

Dont mind the inclusion of Palasia, but i think at the same time we would do with a bit more battle hardened know how that Fensom would give us. Imo, it has to Patty or Kennedy to drop off that bench. Mind you, i think he has the balance of the team all wrong anyway.

We could learn a thing or two from the Knights.

They are missing 5 players and are out-enthusing the Warriors.

Random question for those who watched last weeks game, why did TPJ play the full 80 at Lock when we had Carrigan, Ofahengaue & Flegler on the bench?..

Because Kennar suffered an injury that forced a reshuffle. Pangai found himself on the left edge as a second row, with Fifita going into the centres and Staggs playing right wing.

Just watched the jersey presentation for the four newbies. The pretenders in this squad should be made to watch that on repeat.

Excuse me whilst I go buy another box of tissues [emoji24][emoji24][emoji24][emoji24]

I feel like Turpin needs to just needs to get a buzz cut and start again, surely he doesn't actually think that's a good hair style..
