Melbourne prop Nelson Asofa-Solomona is facing a dangerous contact charge following Friday night's 40-4 demolition of Brisbane.
Asofa-Solomona has been charged with dangerous contact to the neck/head of Broncos forward Patrick Carrigan after an incident in the 55th minute of the round 20 match at Suncorp Stadium.
He will be free to play against the Rabbitohs in round 21 if he takes an early plea but risks a one-match suspension if he challenges the charge at the judiciary and is found guilty.

It is evident that now, more then any other time in the Brisbane Broncos NRL existence we need a genuine leader.
The decision makers ie White and Seibold need to go to market and recruit someone of experience that still has 2-3yrs left in their NRL career. Someone of the ilk of Maloney.
Not one "experienced" player that we let go of this year would have changed anything that happened last night - so to say that we have done this to ourself in letting the players go that we have this year just isn't right.
We need a Cameron Smith, a Mitch Pearce, a James Maloney, a Boyd Cordner figure at this club - to the point I would even be offering one of our young guns in return + playing them overs.

This club is an array of embarrassment at the moment. We have the biggest following, the biggest junior nursery and the most money of any NRL team, yet we looks totally incompetent and are the laughing stock of the NRL.
I think the club also needs to go hard and hire some well respected and proven recruitment officers. We cannot allow the likes of another Smith or Munster slip through the cracks, when they were originally in our own backyard.
It's also an interesting time as White is off contract at years end - I wouldn't be jumping to re-sign him. Sure he brings in the sponsors, but how long will sponsors put up with no success, that or they will not be willing to chip is as much $ as they currently do.

This club has deeper issues then the coach and the playing group.
Top down needs a good hard look.

Shit post mate.

Yea last night was not a good game in the slightest for our club.

But to be fair, we have our best hooker playing half back. We have our captain who is barely clinging to a first grade spot who is doing absolutely nothing at five eight. We have a starting hooker who can defend but is a speed bump for our attack. We currently have our most experienced back rower out with injury. We have 2 new pairings on the edges. And we have a host of injuries.

We have guys in this team like Lodge, Sege, Glenn, Fifita, Gillett, Carrigan who are all leaders. Last night I was watching Sege, Lodge and Glenn all trying to lift the young guys and they are genuinely endeavouring to get their best out of them.

Its not every week that you come up against an extremely polished Melbourne side who are coming into their own and are arguably the favourites for the premiership. Yea we played bad and we had quite a few errors that didn't help our cause but we were like lambs to the slaughter against a fired up side that were beaten last week. Regardless of what club played them last night, I couldn't see Melb playing bad.

But to then cry out that we need to clean out from top to bottom due to this game is a fucking joke. This year hasn't been great but the last 4 weeks we have actually been playing like a first grade team. I can't wait to see young guys like Dearden and SoS back into our team because I think they will make a genuine difference. They are halves who are game managers and will allow us to move the players who are out of position back to where they should be playing.

Im fucking proud of what this team has achieved over the last few weeks, yea they haven't been great sides that they're winning against but they are showing all the right signs. The players are buying into Seibold and it shows. Bring on the next 4 weeks and next year!

One line break in the whole match, wow, that’s very poor.

I wonder if last night was a case of bad coaching or a case of players reverting to deeply engrained bad traits. I hope it was the latter because this side looked nothing like the offloading and attackingly minded one of the last month.

So we need a new player named Darjakdrew Boy-McTurd who can play 9,6 and 7 all at the same time. Or in other words, Anthony Milford.

Halve those scores across the board, and I agree.

Your option and that’s fine.
We have looked good against poor opposition and that’s it. We play a decent team like Melbourne and get smacked. In fact they have smacked us for the past 10 years.
The top down needs looking at because we have not achieved anything since 2006. Any other club in the NRL would love the advantages that we have, yet we haven’t been able to convert that into anything for 13yrs.
Young team, yes.. but there is no leader. We had no one last night that could rally all the young fellas and tell them to reset. Look at someone like Maloney. He will throw an intercept, and 2mins later he has forgotten about it, and sets up a try and rallies his team. We need someone like that. Darius isn’t that, Glenn is probably our best leader, but more so through his individual plays.

I'm afraid Corey Oates is slowly becoming Dane Gagai at NRL level. He hasn't put in the effort multiple times this year, whereas in the past he seemed to try a lot more.
I'll cop some flak but I'd happily see the back of him.

He's a more dope version of Ferguson without the talent with the ball in hand.

How many shocking games he has while he does absolutely fucking nothing, or worse, makes multiple errors and costs us a game while being a senior player who is also off contract and should be playing his best, it's just unacceptable.

I'd be downgrading the offer to 300k, take it or leave it.

We need to import a captain, simple as that.

I’m with you, I’ve said it before on here his bad far outweighs his good and that’s what his next contract should reflect. If another club wants to through more money at him let him go seriously.

I suspect Corey is playing injured, he just can’t seem to run or react as well as he used to. He’s a gun but like most others in the side, is struggling at present. Keep him but don’t throw the bank at him (I mean that probably wouldn’t be a great idea anyway, break him even further).
