It's certainly a blow to lose Tino, but I'm not sure if it's a mistake. In the past, the Storm usually extend players well before they got to market to avoid a bidding war. I'm sure they tried to do the same with Tino, but he decided to go and get paid.
Don't forget he was all but signed, sealed and delivered to the Warriors before the Gold Coast went all-in.
Melbourne don't like to upset apple cart. They'll miss him, but then they'll just rely on their development and a few astute buys to make up the difference.
