I thought the only way the Broncos stood a chance was if Corey Oates stepped up and led the way. In 2018, you could tell which Broncos performance you were going to get if Oates started strong and he owed this team big time after his awful performance in the prior game. He 'rewards' his second chance with two awful defusals and it just gave the Gold Coast way too much possession.

The straw that broke the camel's back was that try to Tonumaipea. Was a great team try for them, but the Broncos had done the hard work and just let it all go with a bad defensive lapse. Dearden rushing up on Arrow, gave Taylor the opportunity to get on the outside of Fifita and it just spelled the end for the Broncos. In the end it should have been a lot worse, the Gold Coast didn't quite have the class to go on with it, but their defence on the line was probably the difference.

It's officially the worst losing run to cap off the club's worst season. Unless the Rabbitohs or the Panthers completely bottle it, amazingly they'll avoid the wooden spoon although they were clearly the worst team Post-Covid.
It is time for oates to go to the second row or bench. Today he was poor on the wing but at second row pulled off a few solid hits and was the only player that was able to run a line off a half.

Poor positional play.
Defence needs to at the very least go forward and meet them at the advantage line - consistently.
Poor ball control. Stagg lost possession at least four times.
Too much one out play.
Poor kick chase - Brimson always seem to have an easy 20 mtrs on return.
Poor teamwork in both attack and defence.
We need help. Need it before the end of the season to lay some ground work for next year.
Have to be better days ahead, can't go any further backwards.

I agree, he looks lost on the wing.

Too slow and hands like feet more often.

Backrow for him, from the bench, next year.

I can see the Panthers wrapping up the minor premiership next week against the cows and potentially resting a fair chunk of their team 😬 😬
No chance, you need momentum. Would be stupid.

Too slow?😲😲😲😲😲
He's one of the very fastest wingers in the competition! You must be joking I assume.

Nope, not joking at all.

He is slow to react and rarely outruns anybody when in open space.

He is not a modern day winger in my opinion.

On Oates I feel like he has had those deficiencies with contested corner kicks for years. Really surprised he hasn't improved on that front with I'm sure us having targeted that since at least 2015. Fifita bashing surprises me a bit but to be expected. I do understand his smiling etc. would be aggravating too (annoys me). Thought Boyd was actually pretty solid. Fermor the first clean break to be stopped by him in a while *shaking my head*.

One thing I would note is our attack wasn't great but it is hard to tell whether your goal line defence has improved or not as our centres without Kelly are nothing to write home about.

Slow to react and slow are two different things. Tonight he reacted too quickly! He arrived in position too quickly for the kick and over ran the ideal position.

Not saying he was brilliant just that he'd been off for a while and he is still finding his rhythm.

As for sheer speed he has 95% of the wingers in the NRL covered. Put him in open space and few could catch him.

Bring in Kyle Laybutt to replace SOS and sign Luke Page on a base salary. He may be inexperienced in the NRL but he runs harder than many of our overpaid forwards.

I think a few missed the fact that another Bronco was involved earlier, DB I think who appeared to be having a joke with the Don who responded with a clever remark or sound which made Fifita laugh a bit.

Guys having a good natured laugh during a tough contest is nothing new and has no bearing on the result. Fifita tried hard and the Titans, like every team does concentrated on swarming him. He nearly scored anyway.

Claims that he's clocked off are wanker claims, made by momentary wankers. Most of the time they're good folk except for about 24 hours after a loss.

It’s a shame the broncs waited until there was 15 minutes to go before they decided to start playing with energy and aggression. Staggs the exception, as always.
Carrigan looks like he’s ready for a break. Last two games he’s looked flat.
Hass is a giant teddy bear.
Can any of the props take a hit up running onto the ball at full pace please?!?
Our forwards have consistently been dominated this year in both attack and defence.
Hopefully they get kevvie in to give some broncs pride speeches, turn on the water works and inspire these guys to get stuck in next year.

I hate to say it because I despise the guy but you are definitely missing TPJ. Your pack just looks soft without the aggression he brings to the middle in both attack and defence. It's mind-blowing because one thing that always struck me with the Broncos was any 'heated' moments of the game would absolutely fire them up in defence and you'd see the entire pack fly off the line. That is just completely gone these days.

Carrigan reminds me a lot of Arrow. Makes quite the metres but doesn't have much else to his game.

I reckon you'll definitely improve next year. Hard to see them getting near the 8 though.
