Just when you think, we can't do anything more stupid, apparently we sign a kid on a ridiculous deal AND bring the ol' amateur hour cards back. You know an extension for White is imminent, it has to be, no one else would be stupid enough to allow this to happen.

Not even kidding, first time I've ever had a dream about anything like that. The dream consisted of me going on BHQ and seeing a bunch of new posts in the player movements thread, with an official tweet from the Broncos twitter saying we had signed Grant.
It felt so real I had to think for a good 30 seconds when I woke up to determine if I had dreamt it or not.
Maybe it was a premonition...

At first glance it seems a terrible idea but I believe an argument could be made in it's favour. It might just work in several ways.
Milford absolutely needs a great season as there isn't anyone who thinks he's worth more than 50% of his current wage.
Milford only has season 21 to convince people otherwise.
If the team performs well, he looks soooo much better.
If the teams fortunes reflect badly on him as captain and leader, he loses out.
As captain he becomes invested and perhaps highly motivated.

Signing Flegler on 650k is insanity. Our cap is already in bad shape and we give a bench prop 650k.

He'd have to win a Dally M and play for Australia next season to even consider paying over 500k for, and there's no way in hell I'd sign him for any period longer than 2 years.
EDIT: On Flegler, he was brilliant at the start of the season and then came back horribly from an injury if I recall correctly? He's one of the best talents coming through in the forwards, certainly not worth 650k or 800k (lmao @ the dogs, they just don't learn) though. Hopefully the figure is fake, but the fact that we re-signed him is exciting.

If this is all true and it is a big if, the Dogs did exactly what we should be doing, looking at young players at other clubs and letting the media know we have big money offers for them and force their current clubs also pay more like they do to us.
I’d be telling agents we have big money plans for the likes of Crichton, Cleary, Burton, Kikau, that other young backrower and their five-eighth. Big money plans for Walker, Manu, Keary, Radley, Su’A, Allan, Hammertime, etc.
