Broncos Roster, Signings and Rumours Discussion 2021

He’s way too slow for a centre I think.
He was like my old HK MONARO 327 4 speed. Had very tall diff ratio. Blindingly fast through to 130ks and topped out really quickly and not very fast!

In other words he's pretty good off the mark but hasn't much top end. Perfect in the halves. If his attitude doesn't change, his hunger remains and he fends off complacency and entitlement he could well play for 3 or 4 years in Broncos colours. The fact he comes in late should mean he appreciates this chance. I absolutely love seeing an older ISC guy get a chance and grasp it.

It’s nothing to do with him / the position. It’s just what it implies about the club. I’m sure Staggs will be next to go. At this rate we won’t have a team next year
Oh so normal for you. Totally wrong, halfcocked, ill considered knee jerk statement made with utter certainty.

This aged so so well.😂😂😂😂😂

I take your point, but at this stage in his career, I suspect it's more about 'What suburb do I want to live in? What school do I want my kids to go to?"
Cost of living in Brisbane is a hell of a lot cheaper. A 3 or 4 year deal worth $800k a year would buy him a very nice house.

Brisbane wins again in those departments. 😎

not to mention that his cash will go further up here

Thank **** for that, it would take a lot of whiskey for me to be ok with Moses coming to the Broncos.
We would go through a few bottles together! With Staggs signing surely that’s an inkling we are close to the 7 he wanted confirmed before signing?

Reynolds new insta post 😏
I don't get it, he is driving in a car.
Cryptically you could say he is traveling somewhere new, but its very vague, he could very well be driving to Cronulla lol.
Although there is one guy in the comments congratulating him on his new 4 year deal with the Broncos haha.

Says
“Hear it all, listen to none of it” I’m taking it as he is basically saying listen to none of the rumours about him leaving 🤷‍♂️

His car is pretty fucking nice, maybe he got a paper bag from uncle nick and is off to roosters effective immediately

Tbh, if the broncos want Reynolds they should also try and get Gagai and Sua. Take a few of them away and he’d have some mates

As much as I would love to believe Shaun Johnson's one year as a competent playmaking half at Cronulla prior to his latest serious injury is a evidence that he can replicate that performance at a completely new, less-talented club... I am not hopeful.

I would love to be wrong and for SJ to come here to continue a Benji-esque late career transformation from flashy gamebreaker to solid, experienced half, but the bloke has spent close to his entire career being a Milford clone. Signing him just because he's the only remaining off-market half we can get is not the right play.

I think signing Hodgson as a ball playing lock would be more beneficial for the team. With Staggs at 6 and gamble at 7, we would be replicating what worked for Canberra until this year... That is, if we continue to insist on not playing the ball-playing lock we currently have and just signed?

Possible team for 2022?:

Isaako
Cobbo
Farnsworth
Niu
Oates
Staggs
Reynolds
Carrigan
Turpin
Haas
TPJ
Rikki
Gamble

Paix/Hetherington
Flegler
Piakura
Bullemor

Johnson’s few seasons of improved game management isn’t enough evidence but apparently Gambles 1 game is, and apparently so is Hodgson’s 0 games at lock.

Gamble costs us nothing, I'm not saying he's the answer, but to me he is preferable to overpaying for someone who has shown very limited potential to be the half we need.
Hodgson has a long history as a game-controlling middle. 9 and 13 are almost the same position in today's NRL... I think he has more than proved that he can contribute in that position.
