He does coaching development for QRL.
In other words, a far more appealing job than coaching the Broncos and being scrutinized with a magnifying glass by the media every single week.

We should try to poach Brad Thorn from the Reds. Failing that ex-Wigan/current England coach Shaun Wane.

I just watched it, he is spineless. He refuses to bag the refs, even doing so to take the headlines on himself and off the players. If that was Des, Cleary, Robbo, Bellamy or Bennett, the entire press conference would have been on those rubbish calls. d
The one thing Kevvie has going for him is he doesn't make a histrionic tit of himself by carrying on about the refs. He said he'd have to review the tapes before he could comment instead of going off half cocked like Ricky Stuart.

Leave it to the media to dissect that bizarre penalty against (we don't even know who), and Flegler, well let's wait and see. He might be lucky enough to only get one charge.

Kevie can't complain about the refs because he's on the sideline.

He needs to coach from the box, so can see how blatantly obsurd the reffing is, so he can blow up at the presser and shine a big ass media spotlight on this reffing.

Squeeky wheel gets the oil.

Which coaches do you admire who carry on like dicks about the refs in press conferences?

I remember after the review DD kept going on about giving Kevvie all the resources he needs, almost banging him over the head to take the hint about his coaching staff, and he didn’t make changes and instead kept his mates. He can’t say he wasn’t given a fair crack.

Problem is the NRL only pay attention to the teams that whinge and they then take it out on the teams that don’t.

There's ways to address poor referee calls without coming across as a whiner though. Not calling it out got us where we are.
It seems to work for them. Look at Robinson.
The post press match press conference where your team played like dithering ninnies is not the place to quibble about decisions that didn't go your way. It happens every game and fans always make a massive fuss about it. But losing coaches have more serious fish to fry. They're supposed to act like grownups.

We were actually winning the count at one stage, not sure what it ended up being

We aren't losing because we get bad calls, the Bulldogs game was a very one sided refereeing affair but we still won that game because we had resilience and all that, didn't have much resilience today

No doubt. But it's a successful traffic for other clubs and to add to that. We won the bulldogs game against 14. Another good opportunity to sink the boot in.
