I rate all our acquisitions and don’t miss anyone that’s left. I think there is an argument that our team has improved but our attitude more so on field in trying times hasn’t. Really comes down to the fact that our spine is rubbish. We don’t have enough money to have a spine and good players around them. There has to be 5 or 6 nobody’s on minimum wage in the squad so you can spend it on the spine. Players like Scarlett, Pulu, Sio, Berrell (before he went to the sharks), Luke Bateman, Nakabuwai. We already have those sort of players just some dev contracts and other T&T’s. Delouise, TMM, EQW, LBB players at the start of their career worth nothing and players at the end who have done the rounds that are great to drive standards. They need to be in the 30 squad. They play cup like they usually do but can be relied upon when and if needed. That needs to be their target get as much of the cap on the field as possible and we then get to buy the spine players. They do that and I will be delighted. A lot of the clubs up the ladder do it well. Hope DD and Ben catch on.

This is all well and good, but which spine players do we buy who are a marked improvement over what we've got?

Would gladly take both at the right price, but like you said, as it stands we likely don't have the coin.

It's pretty slim pickings for spine players who are realistically gettable at the moment. I'd like to think there's plenty of conversations happening in the background though.
 
Drinkwater and Robson are two possibilities. I am not a fan of Drinkwater but I do like Robson. I would still love to get Berrell as at worst a depth option. I think he could do a great job for us for a year or three while Mozer develops. With Berrell, you get Turpin's defense and at least some decent attack.

Not overly keen on Drinky as a 6. Be more than happy to see him at fullback.

I can’t see how we don’t have the coin. We are apparently 5% under cap which will be added to our cap next year. Plus if we need we move on Turpin, Oates, Farnworth etc. we should definitely have the coin if we choose to.

Wouldnt think robson would be on much more than turpin could be a like for like trade price wise
 
Did anyone watch NRL360 last night and see Anasta's smug knowing response to Phil Rothfield's mention of the Broncos having to have a crack at him.

I am not sure that we aren't in the mix here. Whether he would come to us above the Dolphins is a big question, but I am confident that there is movement behind the scenes.

Sorry to keep asking but with Tristan Sailor, I read that he will be looking to impress to get a spot in 23 top 30, does that mean he cant play this yr, or will he have to be in our top 30 this yr to play, or can they give TNT deals during the season

I'm sure we are asking the question and being led along to believe we are a chance but we will simply be being used to drive his price up at the Dolphins or of course, Melbourne. Don't get me wrong, I'd LOVE to have Munster but I just do not believe it will happen. Anasta has the easiest manager job in the world, he knows every single club will be interested in Munster, he has a highly visible free shop window advertising spot on 360 and can simply say little things here and there to keep upping Munster's price, which he keeps doing. Absolute amateur hour to have a player agent as the host of one of the few mid-week league shows around.

Would we...swap Munster for Haas...even for 2023? Storm are losing all their forwards to Redcliffe, we need a 5/8. Munster would know DD well, could be a selling point? I can't see the Storm doing anything to help us but they are seriously light on in the pack next year...

Not sure if I want Munster considering his off-field antics and personality, tbh. I don't know if he would be a good influence or a good fit for what the club is trying to build. On-field, it would be superb. But I really don't know how I'd feel about it.
