NEWS Payne Haas retracts immediate release from Broncos then

I do believe Chris Orr was dodgy, so I can't blame Haas for sacking him.

But Haas agreed to the contact. A great contract for him at the time.

Broncos paid for potential after he played 3 games. Now that he has exceeded expectations, he is basically saying we have ripped him off.

I’d like to openly and sincerely apologise to Corey Oates for any insinuations I have ever made, both in person and online about a perceived lack of intelligence.

Oates is Steven Hawking compared to Payne Haas, who very clearly has a room temperature IQ.

Not my point, my point was in reply to mcchunts comment about mr greedy sacking him.

I dont think Haas sacked him because he wasn't getting enough money

Jeez the vitriol of some, people go easier on politicians.

Hope the club works it out but if he doesn't, good luck to him.
I don’t pay 100’s of dollars every year for my membership to support politicians. I am happy in my right to vitriol when this child’s actions did everything they could to destabilise the first good season we have had he fucking years after what has been absolute pus.

This is the problem. His manager has the IQ of a stapler. He can barely string a sentence together. No wonder Ikin is struggling to communicate with him

Hang on, so that was scripted and prepared? That was the best take? He looks and sounds like a bloke with the IQ of 87 coming off the back of a 3 week bender.

Phil Rothfield has said there is only club that could afford Haas ... the Tigers, but they don't think he is worth any more than what we are paying him, lol.

shock horror, he also defended us (sort of) in another section of his saints and sinners column and called Haas a "disrespectful human being to have around a football club."

this thing with Haas always reminds me of the Mr. Deeds movie where he talks to the quarterback. (part of it has already been mentioned in here I believe.

Yeah, you actually pay a lot more in taxes but that's neither here nor there, I just think it's a bit OTT when some posters get ridiculously personal with their insults, but it's totally your right to voice your displeasure.

Everytime a player leaves (Isaako, Coates, Fifita) they cop an insane amount of hate. Maybe I'm just not invested enough to get personally insulted by it, I just see them as young men living their life.

a Badel report...

Payne Haas says:

“I’d like to stay,” Haas said, speaking for the first time since his management rocked the Broncos with their email on Wednesday asking for an immediate release.

“It’s been really hard, it’s been a tough few days to be honest.

“I turned up here (on Friday night) to play against the Titans, so that shows I am here playing for my teammates and the club.

“That’s all that matters.”

Asked if he will be at the Broncos for the remainder of the season, Haas said:

“I don’t know what happens now.

“I don’t want to talk about the release stuff. I’ll let my manager handle that side of things and hopefully they can work things out.”

“I’m not usually one to get rattled but when the boos came out I had to compose myself and stay in the game and do my job for the team,” Haas told Channel 9.

Ben Ikin Says:

“We will get back around the table with his management with a view to constructive conversations about what the next phase looks like for Payne at the Broncos,” Ikin said.

“I won’t speculate on why he wants a release. He clearly has his own reasons, some of which have been made known to us, others might be only known to him and his agents.

“Whatever got him to that point I’m sure will be fleshed out in more detail, and the more we understand each other’s positions, the more constructive the negotiation will be.”

Asked if he was shocked by Haas wanting out, Ikin said:

“Nothing surprises me in this game anymore. It never ceases to amaze me.

“I always expect the unexpected in the NRL. When you are winning, there’s a set of problems. When you are losing, there’s a set of problems and all you can do is approach each problem with an opportunity to find a solution.

“Some are good problems to have, some are not so good.

“When the negotiation reached this point, we thought, ‘OK, how do we get this back on track and find a solution to this new problem’.”

Badel claims in the article:
  • Haas’ new manager Tyran Smith believes the NRL’s No.1 prop is underpaid and wants to take the Origin superstar to the open market immediately after we baulked at a salary increase
  • Haas’ management’s rationale is that the 22-year-old is the best prop in the game and thus should be the highest-paid front-rower in the code. Haas’ new agency also manages Addin Fonua-Blake, who is on around $850,000 at the Warriors.
Thanks for posting this. Mchunt has me blocked because he didn't like me using the emoji's on his posts lol.

Like I said in an earlier post, he is on a props top dollar wage now so don't pay him a cent more.
Quieten things down till the end of the season and if he is still fucking us around, get rid of him.
But under no circumstances give another club a single cent to take him off our hands or force him to fulfil his contract.
If we play this right we will come out of it cashed up and if we spend his money wisely, we'll be laughing.
Stick it to those GRUBBY *****, Benny and DD.

Yeah it's very dumb reasoning. Kikau is probably worth 1.5m minimum then given Fifita is on 1.2.
And Brooks is on more than Reynolds. Who cares. That argument is poor and the club should hold their ground.
