FOOTBALL English Premier League 23/24 Discussion

@Super Freak @Brocko @Unbreakable @BroncsFan

Ronaldo looks to be off hey? How you blokes feel about that?

@DanG how you feel about Jesus signing for Arse? Think he'll do well with you guys. Will Saka sign a new deal?

@pennywisealfie what's going on with De Jong? Reckon you'll end up with Lewandowski?

@Wolfie - what's wolverhampton upto this offseason?

@ningnangnong @Galah - happy with our window so far?
I'm torn on CR7. Love the guy for his time he gave us under Fergie, but we seriously dropped in performance with him this last season. Clearly he still has it, as he scored plenty and we played like shit, but we got 2nd under Ole without him and played far better football.

I'm at the point where I don't think I'd mind if he left, but a replacement would need to be purchased. Ideally he doesn't go to Chelsea either. Go continue the goal scoring with Bayern when they replace Lewand.

Martial and Rashy have it in them, but we need some serious improvement on what both showed last season if they will be leading the line.

Think we will probably get De Jong and Martinez signings done, Antony a maybe.

Training stuff I've seen under ETH has me excited for the season. He isn't accepting mediocre touches, mediocre passing and I think Donny VdB will be like a new signing.

A trophy and top 4 this season is much needed, then you clear more unwanteds and sign a proper CDM.

I just want football back tbh..

Man United sign Christian Eriksen on a 3 year deal.

**** yes. He might not change much, but I've always been a big fan of Eriksen. He's a quality player.

Pretty keen on Forrest being in the prem, their last stint they where one of the best teams in the world before they fell to the championship, expectations are obviously not as high but still good to see a fallen team regain glory.

On first look they seem to have spent good though and damn they spent, much more then half the league lol.

New owners? I’m a big Liverpool fan. Bit concerned about our cohesion going into the season to be honestz

The Forest owner has a very shady background.

They have done some decent business. Lingard is either going to be brilliant for them or he will be like Deli Ali at Everton. I still cant belive the money Liverpool keep getting out of clubs for bang average reserve players. 17 million pounds for Nico Williams is crazy.

The only thing i would say about Forest is they have had a massive influx of players and that isnt always helpful. I remember after Fulham got promoted a couple of years ago they dismantled their promotion winning side and ended up getting relegated. Too many changes can really disrupt the team dynamic.

Yeah I’ve never understood that, show some faith in the blokes that got you there!

even though we beat man city last week, no one is getting the premier league trophy apart from them. The fucking money they spend….

Citeh's squad is ridiculous. They have spent about £98 million on players and sold about £148 million worth of players. Its outstanding business with the quality they have bought in. They only area i think they really lack now is fullback. I think Liverpool can match them, but i'm not sure they can have a season like they did last season again with the squad they have. Its going to be a big ask for them to go toe to toe with this Citeh squad.

United look the the same old side from the last few years. Another long season for them.

We were pretty average against Fulham as well. Hopefully an early season hiccup. Good to see Nunez hit the ground running though!

Wasnt happy with Wolves performance, although we did look good in patches, we desperately need some players. Losing to leeds was a bit embarrasing.

My view on United is they still need to shed a few egos from around to place to move forward. Totally agree, going to be a long season for them if they dont recruit well in the next few weeks.

Liverpool were miles off it and only really scraped a point beacause even when they play poorly they just have immense quality to pull something out of the fire to save the game.

Citeh, well, already, they just look so strong.

Rangnick said we needed to sell 10 and buy 10 to be competitive and again was proved correct today.

ETH has to shoulder some of the blame for backing the squad, even though as a new manager it's obviosuly tough to come in and shit on the place. Playing a high line with Maguire is never ever going to work, and McFred can only get so many chances to stink up the place. Both individually can be ok, but together it has never worked.

Need minimum 2 more signings, a mid and an attacker of high quality and even then it's going to be a long year.

They dont want to waste the money they have invested and thats the issue, they cant see past the balance sheet. Ronaldo and Fernandes, despite them being quality need to go because of their egos and the way they carry on, and for me, they need pretty much a whole new defence and they only got in the lad from Ajax. Looking for somebody like Arnautovic at a team like United to solve their attacking issues is a joke really.

The recruitment team has managed to sign 3 players so far; a free agent, a $10m backup FB and a CB... and have spent 12 weeks getting messed around by Barca.

That's squarely where my blame lies... and it's been the same since the Glazers bought the club over 15yr ago

It was the same with Sancho, it got dragged out for weeks and weeks. They should have given up and him ages ago.

It's still early and he's young/plenty of time to improve but Utd looking like they got proper fleeced on Sancho.

Man City are going to win by however much they care to.

Meanwhile Barca are looking strong, but I can't help but feel like this will be one last shot at any kind of glory for a while before debt collectors ruin us for a long, long time.

How Barcelona get away with the stuff they have is beyond me. How can they sign the likes of Raphina and Lewandowski but then turn around and not pay players like De Jong who deferred about 80 percent of his wages to help them out, and then basically tell him if he wants a move he has to give up all the money they owe him. Its disgusting really. They should be kicked out of the champions league. You really have to wonder how they got into such a mess.

So United get rid of one talented but egotistical, overpaid and temperamental French midfielder in Pogba, and look like they are going to replace him with another egotistical, overpaid, temperamental French midfielder in Rabiot. They have no idea what they are doing with recruitment.
