Incredibly dodgy.

It's not even like the Auva'a situation where he was guilty as sin but he wasn't sentenced till after the Grand Final.

It's just a poor look and furthers the distrust fans have with the organisation. It seems like there are rules for some clubs that don't apply to others.

At a time like this you'd think I would celebrate the fact that you at least acknowledge the "NRL Is Dodgy As ****" train has grounds to exist. But I'm actually kind of sad that the NRL has taken another victim, one more enthusiastic soul that is heading towards being jaded and cynical.

What a crock of shit that suspension actually is. I mean with a statement like this from the NRL,

" In proposing the timing of the match suspension, the NRL considered a number of factors including when the incident took place, the date at which the proceedings were finalised and the impact of a match suspension at this time of year "

How can they ever ban a player from an important game ever again. Saying they took into consideration the impact a ban at this time of year can have basically is saying if its an important game, we will just push the suspension back and you can take it at another time that suits you. You look at how they treated Milf, which was disgusting imo, and then how they have treated May it does make you wonder how much the NRL are invested in having the Panthers being the top dogs in the game. Milf should sue the fuckers.
“The impact of a match suspension at this time of year”. That makes me sick.

I'm sure Manly would have liked to have their convicted number 9 at their key part of the year too when the wheels were falling off.

If a player such a Milford really wanted to, this would be a pretty strong grounds on which to sue.

Is the media blowing up about this, or has it all been swept away nicely?

We have Haas and Kelly suspended for a nothing incident.
Staggs has to fucking wait until he was fully fit in an NRL first, yet for the darling Panthers they can delay their suspensions to a more convenient time.

I swear the NRL come up with new BS ways to be dodgy every other week.

Let's say 6 weeks out from the finals next year, Flegler gets rubbed out for 8 weeks for making a legal tackle. Does he get to come back for the finals?

Yes. The NRL have no leg to stand on now. Any club at any time effectively can now say that (insert suspension here) is at an inconvenient time for a us, so we’ll postpone it until next year’s trials thanks.

They can't though, NRL will roll out each suspension is judged on unique circumstances, ergo, let the corruption continue.

360 were cracking the shits. It was actually funny, Bwaif seemed to get a cue to move on in his ear and Kent just kept rolling on.

Only if he does a TPJ and goes to Penrith

Don’t worry guys, Vlandys did that thing that time that everyone else did too but he did it two weeks quicker, he’s got this!

An just as an added insult into injury, the AFL has just announced a massive tv rights deal that is bigger and transparent.

So glad this mastermind of an NRL chairman negotiated a downgraded, totally non-transparent deal during Covid…I guess he got in early there too.
I felt sick in the stomach reading how much it looks like the AFL have got for their new deal. V'Landys either needs to fall on his sword or the NRL clubs and QRL and NSWRL need to band together have a no confidence vote in V'Landys and remove him as CEO.

He can take his crap 6 again rule with him out the door and any new CEO must have zero ties with Newscorp. V'Landys must be a Newscorp lackey to agree to a deal so much smaller than the AFL one and also why it's terms are still secret while the AFL one appears much more transparent.

Wow, that is just taking the piss.

Just goes to show you how far the game has sunk into the mire. Even Cameron Smith missed a Grand Final to suspension, you know, back when the administration wasn't a complete and utter joke.

It's the NRL making a mountain out of a mole-hill.

Now if it was Nathan Cleary, I could understand the double standard. Fair or not, the biggest stars always receive special dispensation because they're more valuable to the commercial partners of the game.

However, a rookie winger like Taylan May? He's the type of player who gets made an example of and nobody bats an eyelid. The NRL had the perfect opportunity to demonstrate their impartiality and they blew it.

Nobody would have batted an eye-lid but now they've set a dangerous precedent. It was already mirky when Auva'a entered a plea of guilty to domestic violence but was allowed to play on until he was sentenced. This removes all benefit of the doubt and for whom? A rookie winger from Penrith?
