Except the quotes are kevs.
He left no doubt that he wants things done his way.
Declaring it publicly means Ikin has to eat shit if nothing changes or he does if there are changes ikins way.
It's hardly a way to discuss/negotiate by saying shit to the media.

if you're trying to make KW look bad then you of course don't talk (or quote) Ikin.
makes it look worse for Kevvie and blows any issues (assuming there are any) out of proportion. \

FTR, the article i toom the above quotes from also says that Ben Ikin wasn't involved in the process to extend Kevvies contract in March this year ... seems DD also bypassed Ikin

The head of football works collaboratively with the coach to get results... they're equals on an org chart and both report to the CEO. They're meant to have a handle on recruiting, pathways, etc. so the coach doesnt have to bother with it and can just coach the team.
If the coach says can we get player X, the head of football has to go look for who's available to fill that role and then they work together to get the right person in.
The only place that differs is dogs with Gould and tigers with Sheens.... they've basically been given full reign over the football department because the CEO doesnt want a bar of it.
