THE EX Kevin Walters

I'm not sold on Souths. I don't think this season could have unfolded any better for them, giving Latrell half a season to get his mind and body right for the run home, allowing the team to peak while others had hit their plateau. He won't have that luxury next season coming off a World Cup and being a focal point for the Blues in next year's Origin series.

Obviously they're still a good team, but those structures that have worked so well for them these past five years are beginning to show their age and Demetriou is going to have to prove himself as a coach.

Still, Brisbane have their own challenges. There was a lot of excitement heading into this season but they hit a plateau and finished as a fringe 8 team. Next year players are going to have to go up another level and who knows if they have that in them.

Souths are easily manageable. They don't have the nuisances required to go all the way. Not a knock to JD or WB but that's their style and roster.

My board source at Souths says they are already having concerns of JD's future to take the club to a GF. Fortunately they have a scruple mindset, especially with recent shareholder voices.

I hope that DD has the scruples to bring Ikin, Walters and new assistants into the same path. I worry Kev has a vision, that might be a bit far ahead of what is actually on the table man management wise.

What is Kev doing seriously, those comments are a real bad look. I'd back Ikin to be better at his role than Kev is/will be at his. Maybe Kev was the only option but I think most people thought it'd end badly and it seems to be going that way.

A bunch of drama queens the lot of you, it's easy reading what he says but I would like to see video of him talking, Kev always looks like a nervous nelly when talking to the media.

yep the sky is falling again 😆

With the way things are heading for 2023 I think we will be needing inexperienced players to become legitimate first graders over the preseason.
How the heck will that be possible

Who would win in a fight. Ben Ikin or Keb Walters?

It’s getting a bit tiresome that anytime there’s criticism of Kevvie out comes an old boy to do the fighting for him.

Kevvie's comments (no matter how benign they might sound) are a huge signal to the fanbase that all is not well at Red Hill.

On this occasion I'd say Kev has shot himself in the foot by portraying himself as the hard done by coach. The summary he made of Ikin's performance this year and his overall role was so poorly thought out.

I'm sure Ben will continue to give Kevvie enough rope.

The more I see of Kev in the role of head coach, the more I want to see him elsewhere.

Particularly after Narelle's outburst following the Siebold appointment. Mindsets like that tend affect a lot of decisions and actions and wouldn't surprise me if Kev thinks the same way

He got given his two years to prove he can coach, and while we've improved in some ways, there's still obviously flaws in his approach, now we have this and it's up to Kev, which I hope is what he alluded to, to put ego aside and work with his entire staff and management

The sky isn’t falling. It fell 2 years ago and Kev is struggle to get it back off the ground.
bullshit, dipshits like you just expect miracles and when dribble in the media appears you's carry on like a bunch of bitches and want to tear it all up.

I’m not making my mind up until I’ve heard Tallis’s take on all this.
Another man of great integrity, if you subscribe to the average of your friends theory, Kev isn't much of a good bloke.
