THE COACH Kevin Walters

Coaching is about understanding how to communicate to the people under you. Seibold didn’t understand that, but it’s no surprise that the only player in that team with the slightest bit of intelligence has no issue with him. Now ask the other players.

I am curious as to how you have such insights into the group dynamics during Seibolds tenure .
Were you involved there ? Or just speculation ?

You've seen Kearney's record as a head coach yeah??
42% at Warriors apparently. Would suspect that's higher than KW during his time at Broncos and Catallans, so in my opinion he would be more than capable of coaching Broncos if KW moved on.

Kearney has just stood down as assistant at Storm.
We be good pick up for us as an assistant, and if KW fails again, then he could take over.

I was with you right up until you said Kearney could take over if Kev fails.

he is a great assistant ... shithouse head coach.

I would definitely make the approach, IIRC he was defensive coach in 2015, which has arguably been our best defensive season in a decade or more

Hasn’t Kearney been sacked as head coach on every attempt he’s had?

Kearney has a 35% career record. (41% at the warriors, 24% at the Eels)

Kevvie has a 39% career record (43% at the Broncos, 37% at Catalans)

He managed that 41% at the warriors with the NZ international spine.

1. RTS (in his peak)
6. Foran
7. Shaun Johnson
9. Issac Luke (when he was still peak)

Only managed 7 wins in his first year with that spine... 29%

This was the period in Warriors history where pundits were actually expecting them to fulfil their potential, and I believe they basically head hunted Kearney to try and get them there off the back of his NZ head coaching gig.

He's fine to come in as an assistant, but his time as a head coach is basically done after the warriors stint and the horrendous eels effort prior to that.

Luke was far from his peak, and Foran was considering retirement after Parra releasing him early after his life completely fell apart. Probably the worst season in Forans career and life. RTS did his ACL in round 7.

The spine was cooked

Kevvie's win ratio is 41.7% at the Broncos. Wikipedia isn't up to date, and you know what happened at the end of 2022.

yep, we finished with the most wins we've had since 2018

Kearney isn't a toight mate of Kevvie I don't think, that's a start.

Roger done his ACL in 2016.. he played 23/24 games in 2017.

Luke was probably never really peak at the warriors, but he was elite when they bought him and his downfall really only started in his latter years at the club... it was a huge downfall and he was well and truly cooked by around 2018/19, but up until that point he was still NZ's no. 1 hooker until BSmith took over in 2018.

Foran was a failure on the back of his eels stint, but he was still playing well enough to get picked for the kiwi team from 2017 onwards and was playing well enough for the dogs to offer him a 3yr deal only 6 months after his disastrous 2016. Outside of injuries I think he basically only had the one really poor year across his career, which was the one off year at Parra in 2016.

The main thing I can remember from warriors across 2017 or so was RTS being in peak form and the pundits having no idea how a team like that could be failing so badly

I wouldn't think Ballin is either.

I'm not sure about Cartwright, I doubt they even played together, although they may have have become mates somewhere along the line, just not sure where that would have been
