And if we can't find a 7?? Should we just go with Madden??

I'm not all that confident in him, but happy to see how he goes
The same question was being asked before we signed Reynolds...

A Sydney half? Come to Brisbane? Ha!

Broncs clearly keep an eye on potential recruits from the market. Fifita now, Tapau, Madden and Walsh, Jensen, Reynolds and Capewell (off the top of my head) in the last 2 years…

We have basically 2 full seasons before it’s an issue and that is if Reynolds doesn’t look at an extra year, which he may well…

Start of season 2025 he’ll still only be 34…

If his body holds up I think he will go around again, the rest of his spine players will have the experience by then to take alot of pressure off him.
Walsh coming in this year means he's not our only go to option kick wise so hopefully he doesn't get hit after kicking as much.

I'd prefer if we padded our squad out with an alternative to madden when Reynolds retires (1-2 years to learn off of arey) eg Schneider in case madden isnt what we need, 2-3 old heads in the middle and edge eg frizzell, sione matiuatai, Scott Sorensen, Josh Kerr, Curtis sironen, I'd bloody love josh King, etc., then depending on what arthurs quai ward and j pereria do, a seasoned back options for each one that leaves, especially arthurs (legitimate competition for a spot, especially mariner)

And no, we don't need ANOTHER hooking option. Mozer should be ready but if he's not Walters and paix are good enough STOP GAP options to mean he doesn't need to be rushed in. The hysteria in pre season was crazy on that lol. I get neither are great, or even good, but they can do a job and the run last year with them 2 combining showed they can do it very well for a spine that has Reynolds and mam, and now Walsh as well, in it with a forward pack like ours.

Schneider also looks promising but the fact he hasn’t been able to supplant Fogarty is a worry.

Moneyball. If he does take the 7 spot off of him, hus price goes up 200,000+++ so I'm glad he hasnt

It's just as ridiculous as saying Ezra Mam could be our halfback based on absolutely nothing so far.
I do think we should go to the market but what do you mean based on nothing for halfback potential?

Short kicking game, great variety passing, good with structures, follows the play, always wants the ball in hand, seems to be yelling instructions on the field.

I think he's a 6 too, but what exactly would you want him to show that he isn't? You want him to tell Reynolds to step aside? You want him to do the long kicking when we have Reynolds there? Overall him in a tight game?

Whether it is 5/8th or halfback I have a very, very good feeling about this kid. The thing I like is he always wants his hands on the ball, takes the tough hit up if nothing's on, backs up every play, and he doesn't shrink when something goes wrong. Not saying he will become one, but that is all the traits of one at his age.

Brent Read saying today that he is hearing Fifita does want to return but he would be taking a significant pay haircut. He'll be taking a cut regardless even if he stays at the Tits.

Read:

“The information I’m getting is Dave wants to go back. The issue is Brisbane will have the money, it’s whether they have the money to mount a competitive offer to get Dave back. They’ve got keep money for Haas and Carrigan to extend their deals. I think this week is going to be really significant on the David Fifita front, in terms of what Brisbane put on the table, how serious they are and how serious Dave is. If Dave is serious about coming back to Brisbane, he’s going to have to take less money to do it."
“That’ll give Brisbane an indication of how serious Dave is. Wherever he goes it’s a significant pay cut compared to what he is on now but the pay cut is more significant at Brisbane. I think Brisbane want to see a genuine indication from David that he wants to come back and if that’s the case they’ll get serious about it.”
“We all thought it was a straight shootout between Canberra and the Gold Coast as to what he would do. Now in the background Brisbane have been kept up to date on developments with Dave and his contractual situation beyond this year. They weren’t in a position to make a play for him at the money he was at, talking over $900,000 a year was on the table for Fifita."
“But after Flegler and Farnworth made the decisions to leave, Brisbane have sort of quietly in the background entered the discussion for Dave Fifita. I think Dave was close to make a decision but the Brisbane situation has sort of delayed things a little bit. I think Canberra are resigned to not having Dave there because they were also interested in his partner Shaylee Bent and she has told them she’s not coming to Canberra and Shaylee has delayed her decision until Dave has made a decision. The indication from that is it’s now a shootout between Gold Coast and Brisbane."

At least it’s disrupting the Titans season this time and not the Broncs, somebody needs to be able to set a deadline. Where’s Gordie? he was very opinionated last time.

I'd suggest that Brisbane know how much they have but only going to get to it if Dave wants it, basically a take it or leave it deal. We don't need him, him and we know that, but he'd like to come home and if it is a good deal for us, it is a no brainer to make it happen. Given pretty much every other spot is covered now, he could be a difference between being a top 4 filler team and being a contender.

IMO the Titans are the losers out of the situation regardless of whether he stays or goes.

Even if he stays they know it will most likely only be for the money and motivation is probably going to be a continuing problem.......................... they will also have tied up quite a bit cap space to keep him.

Yes good points and it makes you wonder if it is actually in their best interests to let him walk and use that money to invest in someone else. Their spine looks ok, their forwards look ok but they need some strike in the backs.

I wonder if Jojo Fifita can play centres down the line? I actually think they're fine in the back three and with Kini coming in they're flushed. It's just the centres that leave something to be desired for me.

I keep holding out hope for Sami but he can't get through an entire season.

Yeah good question about Jojo, he likes like a real bright light for them, very talented and you would think that at some point, centre is his destination. I really like that they have Khan-Pereira too, has a real Addo-Carr about him in my opinion. Sami is just what he is, I just don't ever see him being more than he currently is and I reckon that is the spot they should target. That said, they will also need another second rower if Fifita leaves and while Fermor is one, a second knee reco really puts question marks on him as well. I wouldn't be surprised if they go after Piakura if we get Fifita.

What is Tallis supposed to be doing at the Titans? He's the worst ambassador. All he does is stick up for his mate Kevvie and the Broncos. Begs the question why he doesn't have some sort of contrived position with us.
his wife works at the tits right?
