I think the game plan with Walsh will be similar to the Storm game, ie switch up the centers in attack every couple of sets and have Walsh be pretty much invisible for the first half. Then he fires up and becomes involved big time in the second half, and his relative freshness blows a tiring team away.

- Defence and Effort. Points will be at a premium and with a ref who is super whistle happy, we need to ensure that our line speed and determination to hold Penrith out is a as good as it’s ever been. We simply have to want it more - it’s lucky we’re the young, hungry challengers. I believe we will be more desperate.

- Discipline. Penrith are masters at holding their composure until you crack and make an error and beat yourself. We need to make sure we don’t give away cheap ball and field position. If we do, we can’t compound it with back to back errors (our errors often come in clusters). Mistakes from taking attacking chances are fine, but things like lazy play the balls and silly mistakes will be hard to overcome.

- Shut down their outside backs. Penrith’s pack often looks better than it is because their outside backs create momentum on kick returns and get them on the front foot and rolling immediately. We need high kicks to corners and strong kick chase on every kick, but most importantly we need to wrap To’o and Turuva up on kick returns - if they break a tackle and make the first man miss then it lays a platform for Panthers to dominate up the middle.

- Most importantly: Play our natural game. We are an attacking powerhouse who can score from anywhere on the field and are fast, aggressive and chance our arm when we see an opportunity. This has been our style all year and we can’t go away from it now. If we play conservative or scared, we are no chance… if we throw the ball around, we just might end the dynasty. Luckily, this is the biggest strength of our young team (especially Walsh) - none of them are frightened to go down swinging or in a blaze of glory. No time to be timid - take it to the Panthers.

If there's one team that can create a plan to contain him, it's Panthers.

Barba and Graham in '12 were unstoppable for the Bulldogs, until they met Melbourne in the GF. Melbourne sat down throughout the week and came up with a plan to contain them and break down their defence. They executed it brilliantly.
