NRL.com updated all the squads for 2024.

Corey Oates is currently unlisted.

Ben Te Kura has officially been unveiled as a 2026 signing.

Jaiyden Hunt has also been confirmed on a two year deal.

Tyson Smoothy and Jordan Pereira have also officially re-signed for another year.

Coby Black (2024), Josh Rogers (2024) and Israel Leota (2025) are in the development squad.

Currently they've announced 27 players. There were rumours that the NRL was going to abolish the development squads and have a pure 36 man squad case but that doesn't appear to have come into fruition. If that's the case, Brisbane still have 3 spots left open with Oates likely to fill one of those spots.

The Broncos are pretty well served in most positions, but they'll want another backrow to balance their squad. Currently they only have 3 noted edge forwards with Carrigan likely having to fall into that depth chart. The average is around 5 for most clubs, so there's certainly an opportunity there for any affiliate player.
They also have Marty Taupau extended a year. Pretty sure Oates is staying. The Broncos offered him another year back in August and he's subsequently said he'll take a pay cut:

I'm just working off a spreadsheet I made a few weeks ago. I believe the Taupau deal had been announced in July whereas deals like Smoothy had been rumoured but not confirmed.

I wonder why the Broncs don’t announce all their re-signings.

Brendan Piakura:

“I love the game. I love this club. I love the coaches. I love the fans. I love the state and I don’t see myself moving away from the Broncos. Hopefully I can win a premiership here and then we’ll extend for another two years ... and win another two premierships.”
Can't lie the current group of boys are so tight, great team culture it seems

Piakura would never speak that much. It’s Capewell.

Don't think this one has been posted.
Magpies captain Rory Ferguson train & trial

He's been with the Broncos before and played U20 NYC, Was in Kiwi teams with Riki in 2018.

He had his best year of Cup and with Bayliss is a big reason for the Magpies turn around.

I don't think he will win a contract, but he will bust his arse all summer and it's a well won crack.

Don't know what Hunt did to him but he was unstoppable for the Magpies, ran like a man possessed and he'd never shown that before.

Fergurson 2023.

Third most post contract metres- 1204 up from 844 in 2022.
Tackle breaks 46 up from 31.
Tackles 648 (6th most) up from 504
Running metres 3285 (fourth) up from 2104m.

His metres were only 90m behind Pereira who came first. For a lock/prop to be 90m behind a winger is pretty damn impressive.

Good reward, even when the Magpies were struggling, Rory was putting up good numbers and has improved year on year. Like Smoothy I can appreciate a player who will roll up the sleeves, bet on themselves and keep going in the right direction.

Brisbane are stacked for middles, but you never know your luck, especially around the Origin period.

Don't mind the signing of Jaiyden Hunt, solid depth. He's a brilliant defender.

If we ever lose Kobe Hetherington to injury/suspension, Hunt would step right in and fill that role off the bench of chopping blokes in half.

Funnily enough He was put into the squad on the Broncos website before the official announcement.
