Having read the thoughts of people in this thread I am sure of one thing, if we get beaten it's going to be a great read.

Let's not get too carried away, it's a new season. They have a good team.
I had the caveat of "if we complete our sets".... we have barely completed above 70% for the last year... if we have a shit time with our hands it will make it infinitely harder and bring rorters into the contest

Are we sure the English fields are smaller in diameter. I know they are shorter in length but I didnt think they were smaller across the field.

Diameter related to circles , not rectangles when I went to school ?
Length and breadth were how we measured a rectangle .
Have things changed in the last 40 years ?

Goodness me, the NRL is trying to sell the game to the US and the very first thing shown, the 36 episode has Tallis, Anasta, Kent and Rothfield - haha way to turn prospective fans off.

Oh and yeah, we're there to attract people to league and what do they talk about? AFL this and AFL that. Nice home run there.

Oh and let's also talk about the fact we haven't sold the game out and won't.

Oh and also, let's do this on the corner of some round about in front of 20 people.

@JayPee Hess has torn his ACL. This might actually help you guys a bit do you think? He hasn't been that good in a few years and you've got a lot of talent coming through.
Yeah maybe. I thought Hess was ok in a bench front rower roll but it probably helps in the long term. Mikaele should get his chance. Im not sure why he didnt thrive early in his career. Cant say I watched him closely. I gather its probably his defence and work rate. Hopefully he has got that better. Looked great in the trials. Big year for Neame. He needs to be that good that McLean shouldnt be picked at all. His defence is still a small issue. Its interesting how they juggle all their forwards. Alot of dynamic guys. Probably need 1 more guy like cotter. The middle defensively without him and robson is an issue.

You are right. Was too busy shooting paper wasps across the room obviously.

Neame reminds me so much of Flegler and not just that they look so similar. Just seem to be following a similar trajectory. I really rate the guy.

Yeah he is really good. Just needs to become a better defender.

Went to school with an absolute grub that could flick spit across the classroom on his finger.

Less than 12 hours away until the season kicks off.

I have to say it has that air of being a kid and being allowed to open one of your Christmas presents early. The problem is, it's a PS1 and you need a Memory Card to enjoy the system! We have two games, you beauty, but instead of being able to put your feet up to take the weekend in, it's right at the end and you better have a good side-step/fend because those commitments are coming at you like a freight train.

It's all to say that it's a little different, but hopefully when the whistle blows we can put that behind us and just enjoy a quality game of football.

Souths/Manly start us off, two teams that failed to make the eight last season with a point to prove and I'm tipping that upset with Manly. With Wighton, Graham out of the mix and Cody Walker coming in under an injury cloud, I don't expect to see South Sydney's A-game here and I'm beginning to sense a team getting on in years just struggling to make that transition.

Manly themselves have a lot of question marks surrounding them but they're in better shape and I expect some of the fresh faces to re-invigorate the side. Admittedly I am leaning towards the more interesting result and I think it might light a fire under Souths.

Brisbane/Roosters, obviously backing the boys from Red Hill. Still, I feel like we're sleeping on the Roosters a little. Yes they were disappointing last year, but they had a ton of absentees and they'll be on deck as well as the younger players who should be better for the experience. We'll see if this is Las Vegas and not the Bermuda Triangle, but I'm not expecting a repeat of the Gabba Game, or even the Dolphins/Roosters game.

Hopefully when it's all said and done, everyone gets through unscathed, the Broncos pick up the win and we get two quality games to open the season.
