Sam Walker is one I expect will massively improve as he matures. Dearden and Mam are already halfway there.
I'd be chasing him over Dearden.....

.............but he needs the footy smarts to go with it.
and to some degree
thats the crux of the problem.

There are freakish skills out there by the plenty, but a half to see a play developing 2-3 sets in advance?

Nup.

Yeah if a second rower goes down... Oates moves infield and Sailor to the wing.

I'm more interested if there are no injuries and how Kevvie intends to use him then.

Kevvie carried Mariner on the bench against dogs and it was Cobbo that went into the forwards for a stint... he could do similar with Oates moving infield.

Or does he throw Sailor into the middle defence as a roaming lock/fullback... does he throw him into hooker and Smoothy/Billy doing a stint in the middle as lock.

I'm not sure how Kevvie will use him at the moment... and I'm also not sure how Sailor will play when he's not strictly ball playing from fullback.

I flagged Kodi and how he was a supersub that we had in 2015, etc. He used to come on with an intent to run... none of this fucking around at lock, it was just pass from dummy half or run if there was an opportunity.

Tristan looks to be more of a ball player first and a runner second, from what I've seen so far... so even that Kodi supersub role at hooker may not be suitable for Tristan... however he might have a license this game so I'll be interested to see how the game plays out and whether it's an option moving forward.

I think one thing this early injury crisis is providing is an opportunity to check flexibility of players to play other roles in the team.

Our depth is fucking trash this year, but if we can find some guys outside the top 17 that are NRL level quality and can play multiple roles it helps us out immensely for the rest of the year and also moving forward.

We know Tristan can cover Reece... if we find that he can do a role coming off the bench... suddenly his value across the squad is increased and he's potentially not looking to move to ESL in November, and then we have our top notch fullback cover sitting there ready to go.

Similar with Oates... he's an NRL level winger, but if he can play in the forwards off the bench... then it could be a mini career revival and gives us more options in the 17 and across the squad moving forward.
I was a big fan of Kodi. I made noises at the time I thought we should've offloaded Milford instead. Wasn't a popular opinion at the time, but in retrospect we'd have been a lot better off.

I don't think any of us have the measure of Sailor, and we probably won't get it in this match if he comes on to sub for Oates, with Oates going into a forward role. Nor will we learn anything if he replaces a hobbling Walsh. Most here don't rate his defence so I'm not sure about him coming into the middle in that kind of role.

We really don't need another hooker, with Mozer champing to get his turn. But in the short term, logically, if you were going to bring Sailor into dummy half it would be at the expense of Billy, not Smoothy. Billy is only good for twenty minutes, but he's also our emergency half, which gives him utility value. He really should be our 14. In my opinion, Sailor would be an upgrade on Billy pound for pound in that role. But that's never going to happen, for reasons that makes some folks cranky to mention, so it's not really worth entertaining.

Sailor looks a bit snookered in this team. But so did Jesse Arthars. A season is a long time.

I'm thinking more DCE.........

Can he also slot in as a backrower......?

Thats the point with Kobe.
Mozer is a genuine hooker. He should be starting for us this year. At which point Kevvie will need to overhaul his hooking paradigm, and words will fly back and forth. And it won't be pretty.

I reckon so too. He should be starting eventually and move walters to utility to cover reyno when his hamstrings shatter mid game.

Watch them move Arthur’s to the other side when he’s been killing it in the left just for Corey… Kevvie is an idiot I reckon. We only do well because of the insane talent. He picks the wrong players most weeks.

I'd say you are as dumb as dogshit ... but I'd rather not insult dogshit in that way.

Name me one successful team of the last lets say 20 years that hasn't had insane talent.

you think the Panthers have made the last 4 GF's (winning 3), because they have a talentless squad ... but an awesome coach who picks the perfect team.

Oh for **** sake!!!

And fucking Klown in the bunker and Sharpe on the sideline... this is a who's who of complete **** up officials... NSWRL aren't fucking around with the result this time they've sent in the A-Team to get it done!!

Oh ..... *sigh*...... might have to get my apologies in early to the wife and neighbours for the 'colourful' language they are going hear Friday night.

This is probably one of two times that Milford will get a gig in the NRL this season, the other time will be when we play them again.

Wayne must be really struggling to motivate him.

Am I the only who couldn't stand Milford I remember when he was the shinny new toy at the broncos

I'm wondering why there has never been chatter about Kobe playing dummy half.

I believe he did in QCup and most of his career growing up.? Wouldn't he be a very handy bench player if he can handle a role in the back row and play dummy half for 15 mins to give BW a break?

It would allow for a stand alone outside back bench player (that actually could play back row in a pinch ...re Oates)

It would mean relegating Smoothy to left right out.

?

Never played Cup there just Colts in 2018.

The dolphins have a decent side. Jesus I am worried about this one. Our outs are still enormous
