I wouldn't read too much into train and trial players... I think they're typically picked by the affiliate clubs as an incentive to join the club in the first place or a reward for the season they had.
Unfortunately, true. I don't think we signed any of our 2023 T&T players. Witness the signing of Jack Gosiewski over Josh Patston.

I think it's been TMM and Tristan as success stories from train and trials in recent years... although TMM may have been signed on a development deal?

Rogers may have started out as a T&T player as well

I'm happy with the Lachlan West signing.

He was a stand out player in the 2023 Colts but failed to receive any NRL attention. He went up to the Pride and proved a really handy replacement for Chester at fullback. He was too good to be a fill-in fullback and has obviously got himself an opportunity with one of the Broncos affiliates.

Moore goes well too.

Interesting to note the NRL website has Trew and Perham as members of the NRL squad meaning they're on a higher salary tier. It could merely be a placeholder and they've yet to confirm the official squad, but something to be mindful of.

Are Trew and Perham development not train and trials?
I'm guessing they've got contracts already maybe not top 30 though

It's interesting that VJ samu is on development squad I thought he was in our top 30 for this year

If you're referring to the OP of this thread, I haven't updated the development squad for 2025. Transition to the top 30 is also a work in progress. Same goes for anything you find anywhere else, to be fair.

He was moved to development for 24 about halfway through but has an NRL contract 25-27.

Trew was development deal this year so might be elevated up to the top 30 next year... would seem a bit early on it (Coby and Leota elevated from Dev deal to top 30 in 2025), but if he's super promising then it might've been used as a sweetener.

Wouldve thought Trew and Bukowski would be development deals in 2025

Is he the same as Vaa Semu or are they brothers?

Same person, ones a nick name.

Magpies have signed Floyd Aubrey from union, looks like he has a boatload of talent. Hopefully gets some preseason with the Broncos.

Are you sure? Floyd started for the reds in a friendly against Panasonic last week and if anyone knows anything about Floyd that isn’t exactly a deserving spot even in a relative development b’ side let alone if he had signed elsewhere previous to it occurring. First game I’ve ever seen of him and said he has played well though to be fair. All the talent in the world but really lazy, not something to be that excited from what I’ve seen so far. Very blah. Union version of Tesi Niu except worse.
