Just watching highlights .
The Dogs winger that almost Sualii `d Walsh should have been binned . No attempt to use his arms in a dangerous high tackle .
Now hear me out . Yes there was no damage done . But ,, it could have been an opportunity to set a precedent . Go at play makers kamikaze style you will be side lined .
Not a good advertisement the "face" of your organisation being taken out brutally and illegally .Again and again .
This was my exact thought.
He came in hard off his wing as a blatant shoulder charge... there was zero attempt to wrap the arms and zero attempt to lower the shoulder.
The highly likely outcome if Reece doesn't step away is forceful shoulder contact to the head after the pass. The fact he didnt lower his shoulder despite having ample time to make a decision on contact zone suggests intent ie. he decided to not lower his shoulder.
Them having barely any punishment of it is greenlighting this action for other teams.
Dogs fans were blowing up on their forum about what the penalty was even for... completely ignoring the right arm tucked in ready to shot him.
Also why is it always Reece that is getting targeted with shoulder charges??
I watch a lot of footy and fullbacks do take shots, but most of the time they're coming in low to drive through the ribs. I wouldn't care if that's what the plan was for Reece, but instead they're all head hunting him.
Every time I see Reece sweeping out the back I hold my breath waiting for a Suaalii torpedo to come flying at his face.
It's ruining my enjoyment of the game, because it looks like a deliberate act to take him out specifically, which means I have to worry whenever he plays that he might get his head taken off and we don't get to watch him for the next month.
It's not like Reece is the only quick and dangerous fullback out there... so why isn't it happening across the board to other fullbacks like Drinkwater, Teddy, Paps, etc.
