NRL Round 5 Discussion

What happens you can’t have the Panthers win?

You have the Wish.com version win

Ciraldo
Crichton
Kikau
Burton
Salmon
And of course Gould at the top

As sad as it is, our problem is that we don't keep making the same rule breaks that other teams do even after getting called out. The ref will eventually stop blowing a penalty for it if you keep it going and let's face it, we keep getting smashed in penalty counts anyway, so we should take advantage of it more than we do.

Because the refs only do that with certain teams. You can be assured that we'll have (even more than now) 6-agains blown against us, until we either concede a try, or one of our players will be binned.

The coaches have been gagged from even commenting on the refs, and now we see they are trying to gag the media. It's a dirty organisation run by a known dirty operator.

What did he say at half time? They have come out asleep...at home.

Had a look at the Cows panthers mini. I'm not one for taking the roid thing seriously but the way Martin is playing this year compared to previous years with his eyes rolling about and manic behaviour it does give cause for pause.
The crowd was pretty disappointing TBH. Considering it was Yeos 250th and first Panther to do it , hasn't taken long for the Penriff faithful to drop off.
Maybe they've all been done for drug driving and can't travel.
You know they do test for PED S .
He doesn't look to be on roids to me judging by his body and aerobic capacity .
Now EPO that is more plausible. Roids increase muscle mass . And that can negatively affect aerobic capacity .

Definitely. The late 3rd man flop in the tackles even when they haven't won the ruck goes a long way towards winning games.
Complete opposite of our defensive system which is constantly retreating
Until the ball carrying arm touches the ground the ball is still alive . So fair play to flop on, if the ball is not dead .

Correct and Dogs are not elite at it like Penrith have been.
Dogs are getting it wrong(late) a lot.
The other part is winning the ruck.
If the attacker wins the ruck the flopper isn't supposed to dwell at all,
but they do and the refs let them because it looks nearly right.

The 3rd man in stuff is all about slowing the play the ball, and some teams just do get more freedom.

Last week, our avg play the ball speed was 3.65s, but phins only got done for 1 ruck infringement 6 again.

Conversely, Phins avg play the ball speed was 3.44s, but we got done for 4 ruck infringement 6 agains.

If you look across the stats for the games, and the number of ruck infringements given compared to the avg play the ball speed, you'll see just how inconsistent it is ref to ref and team to team. As long as that's the case, you'll never not have people thinking their team gets shafted.

Can be teams feeling pressure and trying to slow things down .
Lots of long periods of no possesion lately . Start to get fatigued by repeat efforts try to buy a little time . Pinged .
Also part of it is the Ref`s personality certainly . Some feel the need to get the players respect . They are constantly coaching them in penalty / 6 again situations . If they think you might be disrepecting them and ignoring . Bingo . But that can also be fatigue on the part of the ref or the players that influences decisions .

I heard an interesting quote on the ABC radio . NRL official is the only job where you are expected to be perfect all the time .
LOL .

I think that's a given my problem is with the teams that seemingly never get shafted. Like Penrith for 5 years and now the Dogs.
Not denying there isn't a bit if envy there. If we could get close to defending like that we would be unstoppable.

Just watching 360 and feel like punching Anastas face on the tellie.
He's explaining how Hudson Young was pulling out of his high tackle and in fact moving backwards.

I suppose they're also suggesting Piakura should've been straight sent and should be getting more weeks on the sideline.

He got him good but .
May was falling but Brendan did smash his shoulder into his melon pretty violently .
He got absolutely folded by Kobe from the side... prop running a crash play on the goal line... if he's not going in hard there's chance you concede a try.

Is it meant to be moderate force AND no mitigating circumstances... or moderate force OR no mitigating circumstances.

NRL is just ridiculous at the moment... who the **** knows what's going on, but you can bet it's going to **** your team... unless you're golden child (storm, dogs, etc.)

Good chat from Mason on the dogs ... interesting when he talks about their defensive system and the "chain" defence... sprinting up off the line and sticking tight together with no gaps between them.

It's probably something that makes sense when he says it and will probably be something that I'll now notice, but wouldn't really have been something that I noticed when watching their games.

Would love to see how the dogs go up against a tough team, but it looks like it's only going to be us bookended by souths and titans, so they'll be front loading up on our game in Round 8.

They don't play panthers until middle of the origin period and only get storm once in round 25... twenty fucking five. The schedule is fucking rigged.
