I feel like everything that has happened this week will pull the team together. Surely we have a siege mentality going into this game.

If they can’t get up for this…. We are in massive trouble!
i dont know the fact that we could not beat a reserve grade south sydney team led by fatrell proves to me we are in massive trouble already.

in my mind that loss proves our season is over we dont have what it takes this year to go all the way. I would not be surpised if we miss the 8 to be honest.

love to be proven wrong though

I think another thing to consider, in a league now thats so wide open (hard to pinpoint just who the standout team is right now?) is we havent had a opportunity to run out in succesive games with our preferred spine.

That counts for something.

Do we "really" know who our hooker is?
Hunt and Reynolds are actually quite similar as halves.
Carrigan has been shifted from lock to prop.
Walsh is injured, Mam suspended.

I'm sorry if this offends, but that all above makes a difference. Plus its only rd 10 or so...

It sounds like a cop-out, but this needs time.

I will do my best to take a jodgement call come round 26.

Since no one wants to do a Head to Head, I'll pick up the slack:

Head to head:
1. Cobbo (Broncos)
2. Mariner (Broncos)
3. Staggs (Broncos)
4. Shibasaki (Broncos)
5. Arthars (Broncos)
6. Mam (Broncos)
7. Reynolds (Broncos)
8. Carrigan (Broncos)
9. Cook (Dragons)
10. Haas (Broncos)
11. Willison (Broncos)
12. Riki (Broncos)
13. Hetherington (Broncos)

14. Paix (Broncos)
15. Piakura (Broncos)
16. Jensen (Broncos)
17. Baker (Broncos)

16-1 Broncos. Closer than I thought it would be.

I really wanna see how we go with:

1. Walsh
6. Mam
7. Reyno
9. Hunt

Cause I get the feeling that was the setup we were preparing for all off season, we just didn't expect the Hunt/Reynolds pairing to fail as hard as it has.

I love Hunt but he’s had about 10 years of evidence that he isn’t the best at following a game plan. To the point his new coach couldn’t wait to get rid of him and called out his “bad habits” as a departing gesture.

I've been sifting through some analytics around the Broncos, just trying to get my head around how we appear so flat sometimes. Crazy that our stats in a loss to an understrength Rabbitohs were nearly identical to the Storms in their 64-0 flogging of the Tigers.
The interesting information I found was that when we have 50+ decoy runs in a game we almost never lose.
The fact we don't appear to have support runners or decoy runners clearly represents the biggest issue. These effort areas off the ball are either not being coached or being made a priority .
Errors aside I believe our efforts with the ball are fine. A lot of our perceived lack of punch from our pack is because we are just too predictable and our forwards are picked off and dominated.
Last game for example Payne got the ball 1 out 13 times for 13 runs. as good as he is the opposition knew exactly what they needed to do to stop him.

All Ezra's dramas aside, he is an instinctive footballer that brings a lot off this off ball energy.
I just hope is contagious for the playing group!!!!!

A loss tomorrow sees us drop out of the 8? Sad

All this talk about Madge being under pressure, training the team too hard, etc, is a repetitive and lazy rhetoric from the media.

I'm not buying it at all.

Here's another perspective - what if Madge has actually learnt from his past experiences and adapted? Until last week his demeanour has been calm and patient in the press conferences. Is it hard to believe that the reason being is because Madge has put in place a process where we lighten training load, ease player burden and look to conserve energy in the first part of the season?
Premierships aren't won in May.
The elite teams will be primed and peaking after Origin.

But I get it, no one wants to hear this version. Doesn't sell enough papers...

Of course we need to pick up wins in certain spots to stay relevant - and tomorrow is a must win.

Ezra to spark our season. Get around him!
