Glenn Maxwell has retired from ODI.

That 201* will live in folklore, arguably the best innings of all time.

One of our greatest ever in the short format. His strike rate in Odis and t20i is insane, his bowling is underrated, and he’s one of the best fielders ever. Most aussies won’t miss him until he’s gone.

Watched the broadcast live. It was so unbelievable that and how he got there you’d think it was a movie.

Me too. I remember thinking well this is over, might as well watch until Maxwell gets himself out…he just never did.

Secured my tickets for the first day of the Boxing day test last week but it was a brutal experience thanks to Ticketeks bullshit system.
You have to get in the queue and wait to get to number 1 but if you get to the front before the 2pm opening time your 10 mins window starts immediately. So if you get to the front at 11 mins to 2 you get timed out and go to the back of the queue which was then 180 000 plus.
Even when you selected tickets the clock kept ticking so if you hadn't completed payment you got timed out.
I have no idea how they expect you to know when to join the queue, it was a very stressfull 20 mins.
luckily we had more than 1 person trying.
We ended up with tickets not where we wanted but not too bad either.

Marnus has been dropped for the first West Indies test, Smith ruled out. Konstas and Inglis in.

Also England vs India starts tonight.

While Marn hasn’t been setting the world on fire in general, maybe not making him open would be more beneficial than dropping him.

They did the same thing with Smith, and they tried it again with another number 3/4 and are wondering why it’s not working

Yeah don't agree with dropping Lab for Konstas. Konstas is a talent, but he isn't ready to be a walk up start for the Aus test side. That said, the windies away are the perfect side to get some experience into him in foreign, spin friendly conditions.

No issue with getting Inglis into the side, he deserves it.

Nah selectors have to fit more NSW and WA players into the side...

India 3/359 from 85 overs on day 1. Hundreds to Jaiswal and Gill, Pant 65*. Looking forward to watching Bumrah.

On form, Marnus getting dropped is fair enough. Problem is Khawaja is gone at the end of the Ashes too, maybe sooner if things go poorly for him. Are they gonna bring Marnus back to open? If not I have no idea who would be next in line to partner Konstas.

I would go Caleb Jewell, a bit of a Warner-lite and at a good age.

Don't know why Konstas is being thrown into the fire here. Surely our depth isn't so bad that we have to feed him to the wolves in test cricket?

It'll be a miracle if he makes it through the Ashes.

Be a miracle if he makes it through this series. And yes unfortunately Australia’s top order batting is so bad there are few options. Khawaja and Labushagne have fallen off a cliff. Kellaway and Jewell look ok but neither look like world beaters, though Kellaway is definitely improving out of sight. One or both of those should find their way in sooner rather than later.

Yep, same with Usman. We need to roll out some really spicy wickets this summer and keep it low scoring.
