Introducing Fletcher Baker... a striking, magnificent forward inspired by Brisbane's Dane Carlaw. This front rower bursts with the agonising, infuriating presence of unforced errors, blending woeful defence with a hint of ineptitude. Each minute on the field unveils layers of sheer inferiority, wrapping you in a burning, passionate haze of anger and resentment —a tribute to timeless mediocrity and failure.

I decided to read it based on your comment, at first I thought you were over reacting and then I literally had an adverse physical reaction to this combination of words

Each spritz unveils layers of juicy richness

Hear me out.. I’d love jai arrow back at the broncos. He’s kind of exactly what we could use in the forwards bit of mongrel and aggression and that old school toughness.
Would live him back but he signed an extension at rabbitohs recently... mightve been like 3 yrs, so it seems unlikely that he would leave at this point.

Honestly hope this bloke makes a real go of it and fights his way in. I think the club needs to make more punts on these type of players.

You never know if all they need is a sniff in the top team. A chance to prove themselves. Hosking was one like that, how we let him go I will never know. Jensen is another, didn't really find his way until late. Sometimes these guys just get overlooked for the more athletic or physically impressive players.

Hetherington is very lucky to have made the career he has. His biggest problem is a total lack of stamina. put that on top of a mediocre work rate and it boggles the mind

Hosking was a head scratcher for sure. He looked great for us when he got his opportunities and we just didn't seem keen to retain him, weird. Given he went on to Canberra, it doesn't even seem like being in Qld was an issue for him.

Being the 3rd man in on tackles and bringing big men to the ground takes more effort that than catch and hug . Ending up under the ball runner and on the ground more often as well . So more energy expended .

Take note of the details of Hetherington`s defensive efforts . Without him post contact metres for the opposition would be much higher . Billy does a lot of the same kind of clean up / finish the tackle as 3rd man low too . People who only see value in attack and metres gained might not appreciate those efforts .

From the reports then, I reckon we did tried to retain him or resign him but he wanted to head back to cockroach land.

Half of his runs were for backwards metres the other night. Not sure he’s what we need

Edit: obvious exaggeration. Not far off though

Look I considered it when I wrote it. Legs tackles are energy consuming for sure but I think there still needs to be more from Hetherington. Reason being he is not some impact forward like Tunza back in the day. Who would fold blokes and not really play the hit up bot game but you could be sure would be found on the end of good ball hitting gaps or getting one on ones on the edges.

Hetherington should be getting 10 hit ups minimum a game and be averaging around 100m on top of his tackles.

That's just my opinion and I am totally open to being wrong. I like the kid but just don't feel he has developed the way I thought and it all has to do with his engine. It where the errors come from especially.

His name, his look and his country vibe managed to convince everyone he was some Cameron McInnes workhorse.

Cutting blokes in half is probably where he does his best work, In 2023 I swear he used to be more dangerous in attack but these days he almost has an error a game in him. If you’re going to build your game on being a reliable work horse than errors are more unforgivable, unlike with someone like Reece Walsh
