Absolutely, full credit to Gibasaki and Maguire, both of them deserve all the kudos they get. Credit to Maguire for seeing it with Gibs and giving him a shot, its been repaid in spades. Credit to Gibs for pulling out the career renaissance of career renaissances. Not only is he a bolter for origin a few months after being on the scrap heap, he is LEGITIMATELY there. There is not a single person who could rightly argue he hasn't earned the spot. What a buzz, so happy for both of them.
Jamal has to be looking at his brother and be thinking this is my best career move.

Hopefully he is... Shiba is likely lining himself up for a decent stay at the broncos at this point, so he'd be coming to Brisbane, but has his brother here with him.
You don't want to go crazy with a long extension for Shiba, but he's got a top 30 spot for next year so maybe you give him a 12 month extension on that and he suddenly has a contract until the end of 2027.

I wouldn’t hold your breath, Shiba’s rise will somehow be credit to Kev. In fact it likely won’t even be addressed, he will just talk about how disrespectful we have been to Cobbo and how dare we wear the black dog jersey because we are affecting his mental health by not paying him massive overs and also not releasing him straight away.

I can tell you for a fact that Cobbo is the master of his own situation and destiny.
The guy won't do the work, it's that simple.
Cobbo is like the chicken in the tale of the bacon and eggs.
The chicken has an interest but the pig is committed.

Last night on 360 CONEHEAD gave some diatribe about Cobbo playing for Australia and if the Broncos really wanted him they wouldn’t have offered him such a disrespectful offer. Brent Read then tells Gordie he hasn’t been playing at that level to earn an Australian players contract. To which Gordie replies, “You don’t think he has?” And stares Read down. Read looks startled and end of conversation.

I didn’t watch it but what I don’t get is, what if they didn’t want to keep Cobbo?
Is that not the clubs right to decide that any player isn’t in their plans?

This is the problem, Ready and a lot of the others are cowards so CONEHEAD being a bully gets to run with whatever he wants. CONEHEAD also said "what coach did he get dropped from Origin under and Read the meek little prick said Maguire and CONEHEAD took that as winning a point but that's wrong, he was dumped from Origin last year under Kevvie.

I think his comment ended up being "who's the coach"
Trying to pretend that if Kevvie was coaching Cobbo wouldn't be in reserve grade.
But the only reason Cobbo wasn't in reserve grade last year is because Kevvie didn't pull the trigger... Cobbo ended up out of the origin team and unsure if he made the Aust team at the end of the year
... but he certainly wasn't playing well at the backend of the year and should've been dropped by Kevvie.So the whole went from Australia to reserve grade is only because Kevvie didnt pull the trigger... not because he was in some magical form that didnt warrant it
