NRL Round 20 Discussion

Yeah Hannay seems the best of the not coaching coaches available, would love to see the Cows take a punt on him.
That is if Tits don’t made a done deal with him already.

I reckon Walker’s would be in conversations with Tits & Cows. Happy days for both of those clubs would be IF Walkers land at Tits &
Hannay at Cows.

Tits need a complete revamp.

They need a head of football more than they need a rookie coach.

They need someone to come in and give the club some direction... and create a conveyor belt of players for a new coach to use.

Unfortunately there are **** all people capable of being a head of football in league.

Realistically they need to try and land Craig Bellamy as a head of football... they need to hope that he wins the comp this year and then throw him a blank cheque, hoping that he wants to head to GC to be with his grandkids like the rumours keeps saying.

Unfortunately it sounds like even if Bellamy retires from coaching the storm would be trying to keep him as a part time consultant in some form... where he lives in Qld, but travels down like once a week or something.

I really hope the Titans don't go with Willie Peters. He is exactly what they need. Thankfully, the Titans don't tend to go with exactly what they need and will probably hire Sheens instead.

Look at what the bye round has done done to us? We’re opining who should coach our rival teams whom we really don’t give a rats arse about 😂.

On a different note, let’s hope some of the results this round go in our favor.
Cowgirls shit the bed horrendously 😡.

How good were the Fins last night.
They have at least 6 of their starting side out but their systems are more than holding up .
It something I pointed out in criticism of Kev as did @Wolfie among others.
They can't win a comp with so many out but they remain super competitive and a great team to watch because everyone who comes in knows their job.
I think they are the exact example of what Kev critics were banging on about, when we had injuries we fell apart but they stick to the script.
I'm a huge fan of Christian Wolfe now it seems he's the next super successful coach.

I'm hoping Willie Peters ends up in Newcastle... they're an absolute shit show... but they are Sydney's shit show.

Would prefer that neither titans or cows end up with someone that could be a promising young coach, because we are destined to play those teams twice a year for eternity... the shitter they are the more we can continue to collect easy wins each year.

Willie is a top coach. He rebuilt a poor Hull KR side so a rebuild is something he's got in his locker. I think he should probably the first port of call for any NRL side who sacks their coach.

Dolphins have been promising on this recent run of games, but it's all been during the origin period and they've mostly been beating up on shit teams during that time.

Prior to origin they were 4-7 and sitting 4th last.

Rd 12 - Won 44-8 vs Dogs in Sydney without their origin players
Rd 13 - Bye
Rd 14 - Won 56-6 vs Dargons at Suncorp
Rd 15 - Won 58-4 vs Cows away without their origin players
Rd 16 - Lost 26-20 vs Newcastle in Perth
Rd 17 - Won 50-28 vs Souths at Suncorp
Rd 18 - Bye
Rd 19 - Lost 24-12 vs Sharks in Sydney
Rd 20 - Won 43-24 vs Cows at Suncorp

I don’t think it matters who they hire as a coach. They would probably get results short time but long term there’s going to be issues.

Until they lock down the Gold Coast and stop losing so much talent, they won’t have consistent success.

With the cows horrendous performance last night and a bunch of 'season ending' injuries popping up it looks like we've hit that point of the year where teams are putting a line through it and focussing on next year... so we could start seeing some floggings over the remaining 8 weeks as players start planning their Bali trips in September.

I'd put a line through everyone from dargons down, which is them, cows, knights, tigers, eels, rabbits and titans.

That leaves 10 teams competing for the top 8 and probably phins, manly, rorters and sharks competing for 7 & 8.

Out of them I'd say sharks are most likely... they're on 9 wins with a game to come and as per usual they've got a soft as **** draw incoming... I'd say they make it and then get instantly bundled out in week 1.

Rorters have a pretty tough draw coming up... so they might struggle... except they now have Walker back so they could go on a run.

Dolphins have been beating up on shit teams, but their run home includes wahs away, rorters (4pt game), broncos, manly at Brookie (4pt game), titans and raiders in the last round (will probably rest everyone). They need to find at least 3 more wins out of that, but have some 4pt games against other top 8 contenders... finals are well and truly in their hands.

Manly have to find 4 more wins out of storm away, dogs away, rorters home, raiders away, tigers away, dolphins home, dargons away, wahs home. There looks to be at least 4 winnable games, but the next month looks rough and could completely **** their confidence.

I'd say sharks get one of the spots and then it's a shoot out between dolphins and rorters for the last spot.

I hope Dragons don't give up just yet. Need them to beat the Bulldogs for us first. Same goes for the Knight (v Warriors) and Souths (v Panthers).

The only teams that will show up out of the list above is
- Parra from next week on when they get Moses back and because they've actually still been trying,
- Souths vs broncos because the fossil is playing his old team (and they should get up for rorters in the last round because apparently that's a rivalry that Sydney give a shit about...)
- Cows vs broncos because we are their GF
- Knights vs broncos because it's their old boys day and like the only game they have left to care about

That was a referee manufactured try if I've ever seen one.

Phantom six again to Ronaldo, then Brailey should have been called held but Todd is too busy pumping his fist like it's a rave to call the tackle.

Cronulla 6-0, but the game was far more compelling when teams were going set for set.

I actually don't really get it. Are they racing to get the wooden spoon so they can get the first draft pick or something?

Are we back to pre-magic round?

Why are they going back several tackles and giving rorters a penalty... I thought they only did that if it was a sin bin.

Bunker has made that up on the spot.

I cannot believe how bad the officiating is in this sport... it's either fraudulent to manufacture results (likely) OR absolutely everyone that officiates is just insanely incompetent and forget rules that they've been enforcing differently for every other game across the year
