I am not taking credit away from Madge but Bears and Wynnum did the work first. Which is what they are supposed to do. They used Broncos pre-season and train and trials to attract players and that's what Burt and Head did to get two players.

Head signed Gem from Townsville, but he hasn't been back to Wynnum after November 16.

You reckon he was ever coming to Brisbane and leaving his family in Townsville to play in the Brisbane comp ?
I think it was a way of getting a T&T , if that didn`t work he would be back in Townsville .

Of course that's far from a revelation. He might as well stay at the Blackhawks if there was no NRL carrot from Wynnum.

It's actually a good sign things are working then. How many players get a train and trial a year. Is two players like this a decent strike rate? Or should we be doing even better in this area?

You can have as many as you want, I think the Broncos aim for three or four from each of the clubs so 10 in total and you hope they've made some good recruitment choices. Cup clubs use it to lure players and make it part of their recruitment. Then Broncos pay them to do the Christmas pre-season and sometimes after pre-season.

It's gold when you get a Jack Reed or Shibasaki on your doorstep.

Why don’t the broncos just have there own junior clubs from top to bottom and can control every thing in house like the panthers do

QRL will throw a hissy fit

At the same time I wouldn’t trust half of our idiots to run it properly
