Good effort Oar and Payne were enormous. Riki was good and Talty looks good every time I see him.
Reece WTF . 1 play tonight sums up my growing frustration.
Just after he throws a 2 mtr forward pass to Cobbo we get space on the other side and he throws a no look pass out in front of Staggs.
Why? Just ****ing play without the bullshit.
End of the day our completions were rubbish our D very rarely dominates or earns time in the ruck.
I just hate the evolution of the ruck interpretation but we need to do it a lot better.
Also as I said in the game thread why can't we run block plays like the fins and others.
We obviously do not practice them, they work and get you 1 on 1 with defenders but clearly they're not for us.
Barrett ball baby!

After the held call apparently
I don’t know why in that scenario where the call is pretty much simultaneous, you can’t just give it back for a play the ball like with an offload after the held call. Though Storm would probably find a way to abuse it to slow things down

Firstly, how many ****ing games against the storm get decided by injuries?

Now that's out, we sucked without direction from the halves and a subsequently ****ed rotation from the bench. Sporting effort to stay somewhat competitive.

I'm not sure that Walsh looks at who he's passing to half the time. He'd have to be leading the comp in forward passes. He's clearly an elite talent but I'm convinced there's not much between the ears with that bloke. Every god damn game.

I think we can clear September for holiday season.

So riff or the storm AGAIN? I thought the NRL was the most even comp on the planet?? At least the salary cap is stopping us from becoming like the EPL!

Stripped after the call of held.

Brisbane couldn't challenge the held call.
Stoooopid rule. He was not definitively held. It’s another rule that came in from players being picked up and driven backwards but why don’t we let that happen?

Someone mentioned it in the live thread about the tackled in the air rule, why did it change to NO contact in the air rather than no DANGEROUS contact in the air.

If a player is hitting it up and gets lifted and pushed back 10 metres, why is that potentially a problem for the defence who has done a positive effort in the game?

In that particular case, we had dominated the tackle and stripped the ball. Why aren’t we rewarding that vs penalising because of the “way it looks”

Scoring 60 points one week and not a try the next week is perfect

I'd have to see a replay. Cynically I thought Melbourne started receiving some calls once it became clear that they were the only team that could trouble the scorers.

What did everyone make of the Meaney no try?

Bit late for this season but we need to get one of the refs to training and run us through what they expect from us. It just defies belief that we can lose so many penalty counts and 6 again calls game after game.

I know Klein attends Manly training sessions so it's not like they don't do it for other teams.

And staggs can **** off . He plays about 1 in 4 or 5 games like a $750k player.
Anyone on that money has to be more consistent.
Our cap is ****ed for years unless Madge can get Walsh and Staggs sorted.
Staggs looked excellent until he had to play 5/8 for 60 minutes. We got unlucky with injury again and played most of the game with 14 players. I thought it was a decent effort.

Second time in 3 weeks I’ve not been pissed off after a loss. We were as good as we could have been tonight.

Defensively we were pretty good, we conceded

a) legit try
b) legit try
c) stupid short kick off try (I still beleive
we are 2023 premiers because short kick off tries do not count)
d) bullshit penalty try

We seriously would have won that without the cluster**** of injuries. Not just the fact we lost our halves, but the impact it had on all other positions.

My son is 8 and trying to explain to him how shuffling defensive structures is difficult was impossible.

I'd agree if he scored that early try. It wasn't exactly an easy opportunity, but that's the type of try I'd expect a player of Staggs' calibre to score.
