Totally respect your opinion.

In my view, Hughes is a manufactured system halfback who fits perfectly in that Storm machine, but hasn't backed himself or proved himself anywhere else. He lacks most of the qualities you'd want in a 7, but he just plays that role so ridiculously well. I think at any other club he struggles.

Munster has about 2 good games a year nowadays outside of Origin. He has always faded in and out of games at club level, but the last few seasons he seems to have taken a big step back. He's extremely talented, no doubt and been a great player, but again I think he'd struggle away from Melbourne. We have seen very similar players (like Luai most recently) show how hard it can be for a half to emulate their game at a new club team.

These guys are very productive players and excellent assets to their team, my point is that neither of them would be the physical, athletic, naturally gifted freaks or footballing prodigies like your Walshes and Pongas etc... And yet they have managed to massively outperform these much more gifted footballers - and I think it's much more to do with the Storm system than people realise.
Nah those storm players are all elite talent. Bellamy is just smart and good enough to spot them early before they gain big pricetags. Spotting talent from players like Payne Haas and Reece Walsh is easy but picking up talent in tyran wishart and Hughes is what makes Bellamy elite. There is a large pool of ridiculously talented players out there just need to have a master eye to find the hidden ones.

Man I’ve woken up feeling so gutted. The one game I get to go live a year and I’ve just watched our season fall apart through no fault of our own. We were up for it, we were well and truly in it and on top and in the blink of an eye, all that hard work, all that momentum, all that was building - gone. Was this our year? We’ll never know now and I was there when it ended.

And also just gutted for Cobbo. I love the guy, we all do, now he’s probably gone and looked like he was ready to take finals apart. Now we probably never see him in our jersey again. This feels like 2015 and 2023 all over again just earlier. I think we might be in for a mini-rebuild. We’ve lost an x-factor back, our 7 and 9 maybe had half a season left in them.

Even worse, The look like a red hot contender next year with probably five guys we had carrying them there in Herbie, Selwyn, Flegs maybe, Isaako on an wing and Plath. They look Penrith’s heir apparent now and we need to figure out who we are post-Reynolds and may lose more star players.

Heart breaking.
💯 We were matching them and getting momentum just gutted ,that one play and our season is practically gone . These next 3 games where all very winnable , Who the hell knows what will happen now our skipper aint there ….

Bunn is about to re-sign for another three years and when he’s done e his 2IC is his son so there is another 30 years.

2060 this should all be over.

I wouldn't necessarily say they were hidden, but certainly astute signings. Hughes was the best fullback in the QCup when he signed. He was only 21 years of age and the Cowboys didn't have room with Coote at fullback and Ponga coming through reserve grade.

I'd love to know the story behind Wishart. I just wonder if they watched this game he had as a 21 year old playing NSW Cup and took a punt. I remember watching him play for the Dragons, thinking he'd be a pretty good option for them, only to find out he's with the Storm.

Recruitment could always be better, but Brisbane attract some of the most talented juniors but struggle to convert those players into NRL players and then struggle to convert those NRL players into Origin players. Even the players who have received caps like Reece Walsh, Kotoni Staggs, Selwyn Cobbo etc. are fringe players at that level.

That's where they need to focus their efforts.

If I’m being honest we were totally rudderless after Reyno left the field. We’re so badly structured that the ‘next man up’ strategy is a foreign concept to us. I don’t see where our leadership is coming from next year as Reyno should not be going round again if he can’t even sprint at top speed.

Walshy has a bung knee, Ezra was playing with strapping, Cobbo is gone for the rest of his Bronco career.

Is our strength and conditioning really that bad?

Don’t forget half the team fell apart last year and cost Kev his job.

There needs to be an investigation!!!

Fox saying Cobba and Mam gone for the season

I’m surprised reynolds didn’t blow up his legs when he took that intercept try a couple of weeks ago. Maybe he did some damage already that game.

If he didn't chase Coates you'd be whinging about him being lazy
Rey was never catching Coates and Mariner/Staggs were already gaining. Big brain in an old man’s body, one Coates was off there was no point

Adam Reynolds 3-4 weeks. Grade 2.
When it happened, with the visuals available & player’s reactions after coming off the field, honestly Adam looked worse as he came off the game day gear right away.

With the way Ezra moved after the game and very casual approach in changing playing gear, I honestly thought he maybe out for 2-3 weeks.

Cobbo looked the worst of 3. Needed help to come off the ground & people to carry him later. He definitely looked to have lot of things going on with his body.

Anyhow, a typical hammy injury grades are:
Grade 1: A few days to a couple of weeks.
Grade 2: Several weeks to a few months.
Grade 3: Several months or longer, potentially involving surgery.

With how our guys reacted and the visuals of them later, I don’t know what category do they fall into. Just have to rely on what the club says.
