Reckon Jr.Turncoat is off to Tigers next season so, scratch him off too View attachment 34901
Didn't think he'd stay after the bridges were burned with his brother...

the tigers though...

If true that's 3 now of the up and coming wingers. Trew, Leota now Coates.
Could of got a chance next year in that position with Cobbo leaving
I think Leota was written off awhile ago... he had that absolute shocker in the U19's origin a few years back, but I think he was already signed to the top 30 via a dev deal so broncos were pretty much stuck with him, but knew pretty early on that they weren't going to extend him.

The crazy thing was, he played his first QCup game of the season in May, scored a hat-trick and was arguably the Magpies best player in a losing effort. If he had have kept it simple and done the basics he would have been a shoe-in for a debut.

Kevie was actually naming him in reserves as early as 2023 and Leota was even 18th man against the Rabbitohs last year. Less than a week later he played U/19s Origin and was barely sighted again. He got named against the Dragons in that game where Kevie couldn't name a full squad.

@Allo and I were about to storm BHQ with our QCup stats! FFS Kev Patston was right there!

It’s a pity he didn’t sign another year

6 Walters
7 Hunt
9 Paix
14 Smoothy

It’s the conservative decision - which has been the theme this year for Madge.

Defence should beat the dolphins but we’ll really struggle to score against solid defensive teams

Apart from Storm who will likely rest players, we aren't going up against solid defensive teams in the next 3 weeks and if we win those games, we'll be in finals and we'll have Reyno back and Walters will go back to hooker.

Knights have been sitting in the top 4 defence most of the year... and we play them at Newcastle on their old boys day. That won't be a straight forward game.

Storm will want to finish 2nd, gives them a home final and not playing panthers in week 1... if they win vs dogs in round 25 then they might be in a position to rest for the last round... but Bellamy is also a ****wit and loves to smash broncos... so I can see him risking injuries, suspensions, HIA's, etc. just to sink the boot in.

I think if he's a chance to take 1st place he might be more inclined to rest players, because he will be that desperate to not play penrith in week 1.

I'm sure I'd be bring back a many-times-busted 35 year old with a dodgy hammy Week 4 after he strained it tbh. Week 2, if we get there - and maybe - otherwise he'll just do it again midgame.

I'd hope Madge would make Reynolds' recovery a priority. Getting ahead of myself obviously but if we can rest him for the Storm game do it, even if a home final is on the line. I'd take an 8th finish with a maximally rested Reynolds over 6th with him hobbling.

Then again I'm not in Bris, if you're looking forward to seeing a home final from the stands just tell me to go fxxk myself

I think if we are going to miraculously win the whole thing we'd need to be home week one. Four away games in a row is too much for this squad. Unless Thecliffe somehow finish 6th and us 7th.

Reyno should just be rested for every storm game. He gets injured every time he plays the storm.

Riccio has got his licks in now too 😂

The full conversation and tone was a compliment. You've got a great team, great club get on with it.

He said all clubs would love to have Carrigan, Walsh and Payne.

It was almost a challenge to the Broncos not an offence.

Sorry guys, I may have misspoke. My bad.
I’m pretty sure that I’ve seen somewhere though that Jr.Coats has signed with Tigers for next season.

There is a third and would you believe it's Basil- a 17 year old called Basil Coates. I want him to play NRL so much. He got the Tweed Cyril coaches' award. He runs just like Xavier. I think Philip must have got to dinner first over the other two.

The Broncos have Philip under lock. When they needed a bit of experience and presence in NRLQ they threw Coates in to teach the younger players how to be more physical.
