PLAYER Jordan Riki

He’ll get Michael Maguire and do what?

Absolute spud, has been for seasons.

32 starting backrowers named each week in the NRL and Riki would still struggle to make the top 40.

No aggression, no intimidation, no football smarts, no X factor, just a body on the field. If his impact on the game is neutral, in that you don’t notice him, he’s had a great game for him.

we once had the greatest second rower prospect ever in David Fifita and now we have this shit

Yep, dude would struggle to make many starting sides. So, so poor and unimpressive and consistently mediocre to downright bad.

There's such a simple solution here, just run with a bit of purpose and tense your body up as you hit the line.

But no, he's like a limp noodle.

Disappointing thing is that, somewhere in there is a decent player. We saw in 2023. He needs to spend a few weeks with some people who can put a bit of mongrel into him. I wanna see fullbacks dropping catches because they're too busy worried about being utterly smashed half a second after taking the ball. Where the hell did that guy go?

Found him!!! Phewww…
Call off the search, found Jordan.
ASICS ad 🙏🏻. Beautiful. That’s exactly what we need him to focus on rather than footy.

Yeah, he has it in him to be a cheap, reliable role player. His issue is, games are won on a series of moments and he regularly fails when his moments arise.

He’s a decent defender for like 90% of the game but always has one or two moments where he has a concentration lapse or makes a poor choice that burns us. Once a game he gets the ball in a moment where points are on and he flubs it.

He does seem like a good bloke though. Not trying to bag the person

As we used to say in the army he has no c$&& about him.

Blokes soft

We had Hosking who looked the goods on debut. He's now a starter for the team running 1st.

God we make some bad decisions in retention.

Hosking gets brought up all the time and people continually forget that he wanted to go back to NSW. He certainly wasn’t staying on cheap coin and we didn’t have the ability at the time to offer more

He is held in high regard by the Broncos due to his commitment to the club, and he is excellent with fan engagement (in real life, I don't mean his insta profile). But you think there will come a point where his lack of improvement, poor handling, and lack of potency will cost him. Probably when we recruit some competition for the back-row.

It’s ok if he’s just a body on the field. But at a third of the price.
