p.s. the guy many people wanted to be our coach (Billy Slater) also claimed Reynolds should come straight back into the side
Hes our captain and our halfback. The fans are forgetting his impact and despite him having some shite games this year, he was not alone.

It's obvious to bring him back. His kicking is elite and with bunt now finding his voice he can only add value to our side. We are winning the premiership with hunt, reyno, Walsh, mam and Walters in the spine. Get on board mother ****ers, its happening

You do things to minimise risk of injury for every player, coming back from an injury in Canberra and making a 35-year-old half ease back in from the bench when he could be called on quickly would not be minimising the risk.
Dumb suggestion from Lockyer then?

Im looking to get tickets for the game and If anyone has a ticketed membership code they’d allow me to please use please let me know thanks.

Unless Reynolds is 100% fit and fully training i wouldn't move Hunt hes been playing amazing and defence is on song. Though Shibasaki needs to be picked for this game and Mariner back on the wing for Arthurs.

Thanks mate I didn't notice the other thread sorry

It isn't about the last couple of years, it is about right now. He's 35, did his hammy from running a bit too much and looked awful for the few weeks before and tweaked it trying to return. Its an injury recurrence waiting to happen. Why risk it if you don't need to?
Ignoring the potential for re-injury mid game, who would you prefer at halfback?

A lot of people who are high on Hunt right now are the same people who wanted him in reserve grade after the game in Auckland earlier this year!
The team is starting to peak, in all positions and we are primed for a title tilt.
Hunt would be just as good and will be a foil for Walsh if he's wearing the #6 or #7.
Reynolds should come straight in.
Our backup plan of Hunt / Billy we know can work if Reynolds gets injured mid game.

Raiders away are a much harder beast than Storm at Suncorp.

We need our stars to win the comp. And we need our full compliment kicking game.

Time to turn Canberra into soy milk.

It’s actually Reynolds kicking game that bothers me.

As he’s aged he has started flying too close to the sun with his kicking. He overplays his hand so often with his trick shots. Once a game he puts it out on the full, rolls it dead, goes for a short drop out and botches it when going long was fine.

It went a long way to us losing the 23 gf.

Hunt’s game has been very conservative- as has Billy’s. It means that Walsh can be the man with the license to take risks.

I dont know what the answer is but people acting like this form change is almost purely down to reynolds vs hunt is insane to me lol...

We were 6 from the last 7 (losing that game with a try taken off of us on the buzzer) before reynolds injury.

Either way it will be a big call. True or not, whatever decision is made - if we lose it will be blamed

Doesn't have to be dumb or not dumb but I just don't think it is setting Reynolds up for success.

I don't even think Reynolds is suited to a bench role. That would just be having him because you're too scared to make a call. Reynolds is a start or doesn't play player.

It reminds me of the end of 1989; Alf came back from his broken leg and sat on the bench against the Bears and in the play of for fifth against the Sharks. That's a start or don't play situation too.

I dont know if Thursday's game is the best time to be talking up Hunt's kicking

He kicked it dead at least once when he was trying to grubber short to Arthars and it went straight over the sideline.

Tried 40/20's that was hitting the defence

That grubber from like 40m out that went straight to Paps.

He made some decisions that were very poor

This! A couple of times in the game hunt panicked the way only hunt does and made some terrible decisions.

I didn’t say he kicked well. I said he kicked boring

would bringing in Reynolds potentially improve our hooker situation with Ben hunt in the starting 9?

No .
Billy and Smoothy are better hookers IMO . That pass that Bunt threw to put Riki away was sublime .
Anyone else notice the right side is making more metres lately ?

Reynolds and Hunt feels like too many cooks in the kitchen .

I was whinning about bringing Hunt onboard .My complaint was he`s not an NRL hooker . And he`s not a left side half . He`s a #7 and should be mainly on the right . And so it came to pass .

Yeah the Hunt signing for this year always felt superfluous but it’s worked out well because Reyno has missed a few games.

My understanding was we signed him as a replacement for Reyno next year but that plan went out the window when Reyno re-signed
