I hope he didn't learn anything from Chad Townsend if he's coming here.
He's studying engineering so he would have been smarter than Chad five minutes in.

I’ve worked with lots of Saudi companies and a lot of things like this get proposed and then don’t happen. I wouldn’t be surprised if this never sees the light of day.
Based on?I will be extremely, EXTREMELY surprised if this comp ever sees the light of day.

If it fails to sign All Blacks, it stands to be like our BBL with no Indians.RE rugby 360. I am a pretty big union fan myself and understanding the landscape quite well I just can’t see it being successful should it even get off the ground (which it won’t)
Firstly whilst these contracts are ludicrous from an NRL and Australian rugby union landscape pov as much as it is still a slight spike there are plenty of significantly 1 million dollar plus contracts in the northern hemisphere (UK & France) and Japan where specifically the former have a really strong domestic competition in addition to a really strong, growing and popular international game.
R360 has significant flaws because a world tour week to week new city concept leaves people home less and leaves the entire concept completely devoid of the most important aspect of any sports competition being tribalism.
I can’t see it attracting enough players, I can’t see it being profitable, I can’t see it being sustainable, I think every rugby nation on the planet will have harsh restrictions on players who leave to protect there domestic competitions and if that means no international rugby than that will be the case.
NRL, NZ and Aus rugby are very vulnerable to R360 if it ever gets off the ground. Neither can compete for money and especially the Australian rugby union landscape and domestic competition isn’t strong enough to keep players here for that sort of life changing cash. However the thing RA have in there favour is that deals of similar kind (not quite as big) are already on the table for Union players.
Yet again I can’t see how it gets up and running but should it, it will come at a significant cost to Australian sporting landscapes.
Look Union is popular enough globally that it really doesn’t at all rely on one nation. Northern hemisphere rugby is massive and there a barely any kiwis over there (they mostly play in Japan if they leave). Only country relying on all blacks is Australia. So in essence that’s not really the case at all. That’s on top of the fact that NZ is nowhere near the same quality of a side as they were 4-5 years plus ago nor anywhere near as marketable. If it fails to sign All Blacks, it stands to be like our BBL with no Indians.
