Glad to see Corey Jensen is staying. Be keen to see if we can turn the Kobe Hetherington money into some better depth in the backrow. Also interesting to see what happens with Ben Te Kura. He is a giant but maybe the game is going to be too fast for him and the NFL might be a good option for him.
I think we are using Kobe’s money to extend Paix, Jensen and Gos

I don't see the point in re-signing Paix... already have Bhunt, Billy, Mozer and Bukowski on the books.

****ing hate the idea of loaning Mozer out to some other team rather than keeping him inhouse... he's miles better as a hooker than Paix, so pushing him out is just downgrading at the position.

Mozer signed a 2yr extension to 2027, meaning if he's loaned out he becomes a free agent on Nov 1 next year... you can already see it that whichever team gets him on loan will be in his ear all year to sign with them.

Tigers were trying to coax Harry during his loan... they were never a chance of getting him, but didn't stop them from trying.

Souths have done it with Bud Sullivan... not a great player, but he doesn't want to go back to tigers now.

It just seems like an unnecessary risk with Mozer and why? so we can keep Paix on the books... who doesn't seem to have a lot of interest around the league.

Just give Paix a dev deal and stash him in a Qcup team if they need to call him up next year.

That's really poor form from the bloke...he's probably still in probation. Dodgy as.

Who do we go after now then?
I think it's fine. He got a better job and is taking the opportunity. Good for him. That's the nature of the industry he works in. Equally a CEO or coach change could mean him being moved on. I would as some other posters have said I would negotiate an immediate exit.

As long as they are all not on too much cash it is good. I don't mind Paix staying. He is a good depth first grade hooker option like we are using him now. While Hunt and Billy can cover halves and hooker we need a certain amount of bodies across 6,7,9. Mam, Hunt, Reynolds, Duffy, Black, Paix, Billy, Mozer does a good job. Particularly as none our hookers play 80.

If anything I'd look for a utility to also cover a few spots like a centre/five eighth or centre/second row coverage like a Capewell player. How much value does a Plath, Wishart or Mann type give those teams.

Broken record: We also need a backup fullback and some second row depth. Hoping we move Ricki on but don't think it will happen.

A non-compete clause on broncos players would be nice

Hard to enforce like restraint of trade. I Think if we move him on quickly it won't have any impact. Maybe on fringe players or a youngster or two but I think we are in a position with our roster and performance we will keep who we want to keep. Might lose a Talty like player or a youngster but that is more about the Perth money rather than personnel. Also Howe issue will have them on notice.

I really think we lose Mozer after the next contract is over. If he’s loaned out that means we wont be using him next year. So once he can start negotiating why wouldn’t he look elsewhere? Unless they then promise him that the next season he’ll have a spot in FG I don’t see him staying.

Like 1910 keeps saying with Mozer he's already extended like 3 different times with the broncos.

Doesn't seem like he wants to leave.

Im just annoyed that the club has extended him and then there's talk of loaning him out just to bring in a lesser hooker... what's the point.

He's a better hooker already and doesnt seem like anyone wants to pick up Paix anyway.

The only thing I can think of why we're re-signing Paix is that Madge doesn't feel Mozer and Bukoswki are ready for NRL.

If that's the case then we really only have Walters and Hunt leftover in the hooker department.

I can only think it's a request from Mozer's camp.

Next year you'd think he's behind Bhunt and Billy, so he's playing Qcup again unless there's injuries.

He might be requesting it so he can get some NRL footy in.

I can't really see why Madge would extend him for 2 years and then not what him there as next man up, so Mozer's camp is looking to get some footy under his belt via a loan.

Could we afford him under the cap?

Not sure what he is on at the Tits but it can't be much. I'd guess between 4 and 500 k.
If he wants success or money is the thing.
We would have to move someone on who's on decent money.
Tits have some horrendous contracts (zero tackle so grain of salt) so there is cap pressure to release him early.

RCG $700k 2027
Fifi $950k 2027
Mo.$750 2027
AJ $850 2029

Plus
Campbell. $700 but in talks for a reported 5 year deal at 1mill a year.
Tino $ $1.2 mill
