I think everyone is living b g in a dreamland if they think teams won't figure us out at our current level. Teams are still adapting to playing us but in a preliminary and gf you NEED an ace up your sleeve.
Walsh will get targeted and subdued at least 1 game. Then what? We can't kick our way of trouble.
I think the PERFECT solution is reynolds on the bench, mam 18th man.
Reasons: any single scenario that the opposition come up with we have an answer for AND one of our spine get taken out (highly likely walsh does if we play penrith) we still have answers and a chance.
Dominated in the middle, no way through their defence or their wingers look shakey/nervous? - reynolds comes on to help kick us out of trouble or shock them.
Walsh gets taken out illegally..... hey, a fresh ezra mam against 12 men with a point to prove and an angry aggressive middle due to opposition grubbery would be just as scary, you could even get mam some reps at fb over the next couple weeks at training. Might work for half a game as the opposition comes to terms with it.
Nearly every single premiership their has been an ace up the sleeve from the premiers. Whether it be tactic or line up wise. Theres also been an inspirational return/play through from injury thrown in by an elder statesman often too, as an added caveat
