Looking back from earlier in the season and seeing how much flack Madge copped what he has achieved is seriously impressive, that was awesome to see all the 4 trophy accounts on social media with their tail between their legs, i hope they can beat the Storm that would be truly epic

You probably need to get to Harry before the weekend

Staggs:
- Crowd yesterday was unbelievable, never heard anything like it, couldn't hear anything from players or the ref
- Preseason was the toughest we've done and we are reaping the rewards of that now
- Legs were stuffed at the end of the Raiders game but the one point Hunt got gave us such belief
- We didn't want to go in on 0 yesterday at half time but we had belief in one another
- The belief and brotherhood is unbelievable this year
- Maguire wanted us to keep it simple and after he finished speaking, we looked at one another and gave a nod that we would fight for one another
- If we didn't train the way we did in preseason, we wouldn't be here now
- Our fitness is lasting longer than other sides, we feel it and you can see it
- Me and Deine have a good connection and we both just want to get better, we stay behind and do extras together
- This is why you play footy and where you want to be at this time of year
- Stefano must just watch our games and is probably trying to light a spark and I guess we will see who he runs at as who he doesn't like
- The experience and leadership Patty brings is elite, having him back is a key for us in the middle
- Love having him and Payne in the middle laying a platform for us

That fitness point was a big one - you could see how gassed Penrith looked at the end.

I think a big part of it was the amount of work our back 5 got through in the first half - Karapani and Mariner especially. Allowed the middle to just make their tackles and have enough energy to destroy Penrith in the 2nd half. Pretty much beat Penrith at their own game.

The fitness of most of our blokes was obvious. Not so much on Reyno and Ezra.

In fact, when i watched a podcast that Matty Johns did with Cooper Johns late Sunday night he mentioned he could see Reyno's hammy was gone before he took that kick so it was some sort of special effort to slot it over.

I hope Reg's eyes were deceiving him and Reyno hasn't re-injured the hammy. Not heard a fitness report on our boys yet.

Yeah our back five have gone from a major weakness to a major strength. Back five metres are everything in modern league and ours are now as good as anyone. Mariner and Karapani deserve a standing ovation, they get every set off to a flying start and Staggs and Shibs have really well off the back of that. It lays a strong platform then for our middles to go to work.

Given our middles include Patty, Payne and Xman who can keep coming at you all day, it means we are now rarely ever on the back foot.

Reynolds looked fine, looked unimpeded for the first time in ages on his chip and chase too.

Keep in mind Penref made easy metres up our middle in the first half. Granted Paddy will snuff out a good deal of that, but that Pappy coming through the middle of the ruck just 5 minutes before halftime is a major (potential) headache. Hopefully Staggs and (headgear) Riki has shortened him up well before that.

Reyno was strutting around caxton st like he was 21 yesterday

Melbourne’s’ middles aren’t in the same class as Penrith’s though. Their entire momentum comes off Grant, he needs to be shut down at all costs. Easier said than done.

I noticed that as well. The first part of the game our forwards didn't really feature in the metre making. At one point I was "Where is Hass?". All part of the master plan.
