THE BOSS Maguire Stomped The Naysayers! But...8 Months Later, Here We Are.

Credit to the bounce. Literally.

All 3 tries included the ball hitting the deck. The first one was a double, the pass was short and it bounced before Reynolds got it, then he kicked it and it bounced up for Staggs.
Yes thinking about it now that’s right. Have to earn the bounce though.. boys were always there for it…

I may have been wrong. I believed Madge could do it but I didn't think the players would ever buy in the way they needed to. Yet here we are, the team that once had an attitude problem and seemingly a toxic culture are now a bunch of brothers putting it all on the line and the fittest team in the comp.

Oh wow. My temper tantrum when Madge was appointed .. was pathetic lol

PS. Sorry Madge xx lol

I felt sad for Kev .
But I was optomistic re Madge . I thought he had the hard edge required to take the squad to another level .
Also Hoss and Lee Briers jumping ship mid last season was a harbinger of change . To me they were the brains behind 2023 . Kev is the hype man and face of the operation , but delegates and is like an Uncle more than a boss .

I did worry mid season when they started to show less care about details and lost games they were expected to win . But the fitness and resilience has been amazing to watch late in the season .

A little surprised he didn`t pick his own staff . But maybe they were the best candidates anyway ?

I didn't doubt him.

I always thought he was the man for the job. That what he was putting the players through would pay off in the long run, they just had to buy in to what he was trying to achieve.

Admittedly, I didn't think we would reap the rewards until next season, it all happened a lot sooner than I expected.

I never doubted he would do well in his first season, I was worried about subsequent ones but man, if he wins us a premiership next week, who cares.
I hope this is the tough love they need and they only get better from here.

Madge's style isn't as extreme as the media like to make out. The stories that have come out of Melbourne for years show that they have similar training standards there. I'd imagine the re-birth of Penrith 5ish years ago likely came off the back of similar standards.

Well also remember we were talking about getting rid of the ones complaining and not buying in. Like a 2nd year clean out . I doubt too many will want to leave willingly now .

I ****ing doubted him. More because of my love for kevy than anything else. I think wolfie pulled me back to planet earth at some point during my rants.

I death rode madge, threw all the toys out this year and carried on like a 3 year old.

Couldn't have been more wrong.

I still believe we were red lining a bit more in the 2023 finals series but madge has only had one season. Im optimistic he will have us red lining when it really counts, on Sunday.

23 broncs run through 25 broncs no question... the leagues just weaker this year...

but lets hope 25 was meant to be the tune up year, and we actually turn into a team that plays well, not one thats just super fit, next year.... could be unstoppable.
