Grand Final Watch Thread… Who What When Where Why

For those not attending the grand final, where will you be watching it? Who will you be watching it with? Why will you be watching with them?

To continue the theme unnecessarily, when will you be watching it and what will you be watching?

My kids are going to my Mum and Dad’s creek hut tomorrow for a few nights for school holidays.

I broke the news to my 8 year old son after the Penrith game that we wouldn’t be watching it together as I had another event during the day on Sunday (a comedy festival). He got so upset that I came to my senses and decided to ditch the event and go pick him (who) up early on Sunday to bring him home (where) to watch it.

I’ll be watching the game (what) live (when) and because I love me broncos (why).

I couldn’t bear the stress of going to the game. Maybe one day I’ll go to one, it’s on the bucket list….but in the mean time

I’ll be at my in laws at the sunny coast with the family. It’s the same scene we watched 2023, so there’s some trauma to rectify.

Will be drinking plenty of gin to calm the nerves.

By myself in the rumpus room with a Broncos shrine around the TV. My missus will refuse to watch it with me because I get too agitated (lol) and the kids don't care about footy

I'd watch it with my parents or my MIL otherwise but they're both away.

I'll be in my zen place. Mrs Fourex has been warned/advised that whilst I'll be open minded to general conversation
don't start shit with me on Sunday.

Morning beers.......and cones. Flawless Victory......will wipe me.....eventually. I've taken the precaution of buying some coke for the weekend .......in case of emergency, because
there'll be an afternoon snooze at some point.

I'll need to be fresh to fire the **** up at game time.....

On second thoughts **** it........I'm gonna have a couple lines for breakfast ...and beers ....and cones.

As for me, watching at home with my wife and kiddo. From next year onwards tho, if we make it, i'll be making the trek down with the wife and little one. She's just a little too young to go this time around (the kid).

I'm thinking of watching the game out at the airport.....

I want to ensure a prime spot to welcome the teams home with the trophy.

If not I'll be mostly on my feet in front of my idiot box or balancing my lardy arse barely millimetres on the edge of the sofa.

All sharp objects will have already been removed by my missus and the only conversation allowed will be footy or if i need another beer.

And that's just for the woman's game

Saturday: My local breweries are doing a colab for Oktoberfest so I'll be sticking my head in for that for a portion of the day. Smoked, pulled pork knuckle sounds pretty good to me. Head home to watch the F1 practice and qualifying if I'm still coherent.

Sunday: Beer, Food and Footy from about 11am onwards. Probably have an early dinner BBQ because the stupid game starts so late. F1 after the game assuming I haven't smashed my TV or something.

Could end up being the greatest weekend of my life.

At home, in the lounge, by myself. The wife doesn't care (only vaguely on my behalf) and I couldn't stand watching it with any of my immediate family.

Actually need to pick up a new TV beforehand because ours developed a black line the whole way across and about a third of the screen up from the bottom just before the game last weekend...
