GRAND FINAL WEEK Brisbane Broncos vs Melbourne Storm

This GF week feels different to '23 and '15.
I live Bayside of Brisbane (technically not in Brisbane) and I don't recall seeing as many Broncos flags out the front of peoples houses within 100m of my house or anywhere around Brisbane for any GF.

Talking to people around here (clients and pub) after round 27 they were quietly confident of going deep, after Canberra were more confident about beating penref at home. After Sunday I'm feeling the entire SEQ is loudly confident like the golden years.

As many have said the boys look ready for business, they've been here before and know how to do it.

I think the purple cheats had a game plan for penref this year, but not us, they went full strength last round (unnecessarily) to keep us out. They would have been shitting themselves in the last 3 minutes on Sunday at Harry Grants.

Unfortunately I know a few storm supporters and they all claim they don't care who wins, they know whats coming!

LETS GO!!
Mate in Sydney said there was already alot of Broncos fans around there (and hardly any Melbourne fans). The crowd will make this like a home game for us.

I think we were outsiders in both finals games this year - but we still won. Its feeling like destiny.

I think having Atkins probably helps. During finals games, he seems to only call it if its really obvious - or someone drops the ball - we nust need to be smart enough to adapt during the game. The escort stuff worries me. I don't know how we stop Coates otherwise.

we keep escorting Coates, although try not to be too blatant.

whether it's an "official" directive or not. given the media talk about keeping penalties down, Atkins will be too scared to blow heaps of penalties ... and zero chance anyone gets sent to the sin bin for an escort. Hell, Atkins didn't even sin bin Cleary for a punch (albeit a weak one) or Martin running 30m with a swinging arm as the 3rd man in

we all know how the NRL react to media scrutiny

The formula to winning this weekend.

Majority of Melbournians call The Storm their "Rugby" team don't they?

I know Sydney hates us so good to hear the fans are showing up!

Looks like the entire metro Brisbane is backing them here!

The storm are UNBEATABLE all of a sudden. The media have been going on about them not looking good all year, but now they're playing us ive literally heard: panthers were off , Walsh will get exposed, storm are too smart, big game players, and this one's my favourite "the tauomolo game plan" where they took his effectiveness out in a gf will work on haas.
Matty Johns had a segment on his show last night saying how Paps can really tear the Broncos apart through the middle by showing footage of him scoring 4 tries (pretty much all of them backing up on the inside) from.... wait for it.....2021!

Isaako at fullback in those highlights...

We gotta come out early and blow them off the park - but more importantly score points while we have the advantage.
This for mine is imperative. We can’t just go about how we went to score points the last 2 games. Agree we’re comeback greats but that might play negatively given the gravity of the occasion. We must go gangbusters from the starting minute.

Every time we cross the 50m line and into the grubs side, we MUST walk away scoring points or getting a repeat set that builds pressure on those cheats.

Just bash them and barge through them. No 2 ways about it.

Matty Johns talking about Melbourne having plans for Haas and Walsh and they'll stop them and the Broncs are done as a result.

I mean...will we not have a plan for their gun players? You don't think teams have targeted Haas and Walsh before?

Keep writing us off media, keep writing us off. The egg on faces when we win by 40 will be beautiful.
These days he’s going for sensationalism to appease his pals than talk substance. Every time he talks shit like that, it only results in total opposite which, is great for us.

Stuart thought he got a plan to contain but failed. Ivan thought he too got a plan but planned too. Before these 2, the grub cheat guru too thought he had a master plan. They all failed & it will be no different on Sunday. We will smoke them.

I think the Broncos would do well to attack more from their own 40 up to the Storm 20 then they did against Penrith. They just look more dangerous in those areas of the field imo. I do not like Paix/Hunts service from dummy half when it gets deep in the red zone. Service seems slow and out of sync. The staggs try was even an example of this. It was a rushed kick from a slow decision from dummy half.

I think Walsh can get more ball in this area too. On the weekend he didnt look the same for whatever reason until that brilliant setup of the last try. He looked dangerous around the ruck early with his carries poking his nose through but didnt get much of it in really good spots for most of the game. I would imagine that would be the first thing that they would try and address in whatever training they do this week.

Got a plan to stop Haas? That's a shame, but we have X. Got a plan to stop Walsh? That's a shame, but we still have Mam. Not to mention a half dozen other game breakers.
