We have a few Storm fan mates but one in particular is super die hard/anti bronco, always talked us down etc etc anyway after smith retired they were starting to mumble things like they don’t care about nrl because it’s not the same anymore with the 6 again rule (fair cop) but any time they flagged us would be up and about.
Aaanyway, talked a HARD talk the week leading up to the final about the broncos being gassed and Grant/munny being on etc etc, I agreed whole heartedly (you know: pessimistic me) so imagine my surprise when I contacted them post game and he says “I don’t even care, the refs robbed us and I just watch rugby now” (also: born and raised Brisbane local, no ties to Melbourne.)
**** I hate the storm.

I've got nowhere to be today. Just finished at the gym and had my second breakfast and a shower, and now I'm going to park myself on the couch and fire up rounds 24 to the GF back-to-back.
Going to be so glorious to watch it all without any dread and anxiety. The death riding from the commentary at the time is going to be the cherry on top.

Cooper Johns believes that if Walsh didn't make that tackle on Paps at the end of the game, Paps still doesn't score because Haas was coming across in cover and would have got him.
I guess maybe he would have. Karapani being close by probably would have forced him in-field more as he wouldn't have been able to go straight or to the corner Warbrick was covered so wouldn't have been able to link up with him.
It really says something about Haas. There are a lot of front rowers in this game that would not have made that run, they would have been standing there hands on hips sucking in the big ones, but Haas makes that run just in case and who knows, maybe he would have been just quick enough to stop him.
